  • Patent number: 9540996
Abstract: The invention relates to a silencer for exhaust systems of motor vehicles with an internal combustion engine. The silencer includes an exhaust gas flow pipe for guiding exhaust gas with an exhaust gas inlet opening, an exhaust gas outlet opening having a flow connection to the exhaust gas inlet opening, and a longitudinal center axis. It furthermore has at least one actuable adjustment body for influencing the flow of the exhaust gas in the exhaust gas flow gas pipe, the at least one adjustment body being arranged downstream of the exhaust gas inlet opening. Moreover, the silencer includes at least one bypass channel, which has a flow connection to the exhaust gas flow pipe, runs past the at least one adjustment body and has an exhaust gas outlet opening.

  • Patent number: 9188047
Abstract: A silencer arrangement for exhaust systems of motor vehicles having internal combustion engines includes at least one rear exhaust silencer having at least one exhaust pipe for guiding the exhaust gas and at least one actuatable adjustment device. At least one adjustment body, which can be displaced between an exhaust closing position and an exhaust opening position, is associated with the at least one rear exhaust silencer. The silencer arrangement also includes an exhaust bypass device having at least one connection piece. It is arranged upstream of the at least one rear exhaust silencer for connecting to an exhaust manifold device. The bypass device includes at least one exhaust bypass pipe body which is fluidly connected to the at least one connection piece and has at least one exhaust bypass outlet for releasing the exhaust gas from the silencer arrangement.

  • Patent number: 7484591
Abstract: A muffler outlet part for a muffler to be used in exhaust systems of motorcycles has at least one main body disposed transversely to an outflow direction of exhaust gas and having a center axis, the main body having a centrical first outlet opening disposed concentrically relative to the center axis for the outflow of exhaust gas from an outlet chamber of the muffler, and at least one second outlet opening disposed eccentrically relative to the center axis for the outflow of exhaust gas from an expansion chamber of the muffler, said expansion chamber enclosing the outlet chamber. It further has at least one closing member that is swivel-mounted about the center axis for an at least partial closing of the at least one second outlet opening, and at least one adjustment element for swiveling of the closing member via an adjustment means, which cooperates in a torque-transmitting manner with the at least one adjustment element.
