Publication number: 20230379259Abstract: A method controls a transmission of files. For controlling the transmission, a type of the content of the files to be transmitted is established. Furthermore at least one attribute is assigned to the files to be transmitted on the basis of the type of their content. Subsequently the files to be transmitted are transmitted as a function of the at least one attribute.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 18, 2023Publication date: November 23, 2023Inventor: Roland Porsch

Publication number: 20220361257Abstract: A method for establishing a wireless data connection between a vehicle and an external unit. The method for establishing the wireless data connection between the vehicle and the external unit has the vehicle check whether at least one condition from among one or more predefined conditions for establishing a connection has or have been fulfilled. Depending on the result of the check, the vehicle establishes a wireless data connection to the external unit, for data transmission.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 18, 2020Publication date: November 10, 2022Inventor: Roland Porsch

Patent number: 10388126Abstract: A method in conjunction with a passenger guidance system guides a passenger to a passenger seat disposed in a vehicle. In order to guide a passenger quickly and reliably to a passenger seat which corresponds to his needs and is disposed in a vehicle, and to improve the flow of passengers, it is proposed to determine occupation states of passenger seats of the vehicle and to guide the passenger to an unoccupied passenger seat. For carrying out the method, a passenger guidance system is proposed which has at least one device for determining the occupation state of passenger seats arranged in a vehicle, at least one evaluation device which is configured to determine a destination to which a passenger is to be guided, and a transmission device by which data which are suitable for indicating a path to the destination can be transmitted to at least one display device.Type: GrantFiled: May 20, 2015Date of Patent: August 20, 2019Assignee: Siemens Mobility GmbHInventors: Joerg Gruenbaum, Holger Last, Roland Loskarn, Roland Porsch, Juergen Schlaht

Patent number: 10296797Abstract: A method and an apparatus for identifying occupancy of a seat use a camera. In order to achieve permanently reliable identification of the occupancy of a seat, the camera is oriented such that it captures at least one area of interest of the seat. An evaluation apparatus is used to identify the area of interest in a picture taken by the camera and to store a position for the area of interest. The evaluation apparatus selects the area of interest in pictures subsequently taken by the camera at the stored position and compares the area of interest with at least one stored picture sample. A result of this comparison is taken as a basis for identifying the seat as being occupied. In addition, an apparatus having a camera and an evaluation apparatus is described for performing the method.Type: GrantFiled: April 10, 2015Date of Patent: May 21, 2019Assignee: Siemens Mobility GmbHInventor: Roland Porsch

Publication number: 20170323160Abstract: A method displays information on an object visible through a moving transparent screen and geographical coordinates are identified. The geographical coordinates of the window are used for a part of an object stored in a database, a resulting projection location on the window is identified upon projection of the object in the direction of an observer looking through the window and moving along with the window. It is identified for each of the projection locations whether the location is located within a window section of the window captured by a specified viewing angle of the observer. For those objects having a projection location located in the window section, related object information stored in the database is displayed at a distance from the identified projection location on the transparent screen. The method steps are carried out repeatedly and the object information is thus moved along together with the related object.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 3, 2015Publication date: November 9, 2017Inventor: ROLAND PORSCH

Patent number: 9475510Abstract: A method for generating action recommendations for the driver of a rail vehicle or control signals for the rail vehicle by way of a driver assistance system. Taking at least one journey specification into account, driving data is calculated and on the basis of the driving data: an action recommendation is generated and displayed in an action recommendation display device or a control signal that acts on a vehicle control device is generated. In order to optimize such a method in relation to an energy requirement of the rail vehicle, at least one air pressure characteristic variable is taken into account as a journey specification.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 2013Date of Patent: October 25, 2016Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Roland Porsch, Patrick Schmidt

Patent number: 9358993Abstract: A method optimizes operation of an electrically driven rail vehicle on a predefined route. In order to optimize the known method even further, the costs of the electrical energy which is fed into the route and/or the environmental loading are sensed during the generation of the electrical energy which is fed into the route. The method of locomotion of the rail vehicle on the route is set taking into account the level of the costs of the electrical energy and/or the environmental loading in the generation of the electrical energy for the route.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 2012Date of Patent: June 7, 2016Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventor: Roland Porsch

Patent number: 9002480Abstract: A method for operating a control network includes a first control computer, a second redundant control computer and a plurality of data-processing appliances, wherein a connection between the computers and the appliances is provided by a redundant and diverse heartbeat. The connection between the computers is checked before operating the control network. If a test result is positive, a master function is assigned to the first computer. If the test result is negative, both computers connect the appliances to themselves in a defined sequence. When a predetermined number of appliances are connected to the first computer, the computer takes over a master function and the second computer takes over a standby function, or, when a number, which is less than the predetermined number, of appliances are connected to each of the two computers, a signal is produced which signals a fault state of the control network.Type: GrantFiled: October 13, 2011Date of Patent: April 7, 2015Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Roland Porsch, Hartmut Ludwig, Andreas Ziegler, Tino Schwarz, Andreas Kirsch

Patent number: 8620873Abstract: At least one embodiment of the present invention relates to supporting a safety-oriented system, with the safety-oriented system including safety-critical software components and non-safety-critical software components. In this method, a possibility of a safety-critical software component and a non-safety-critical software component influencing each other is identified and a set of technical measures for preventing the possibility of influencing is defined. In this way, an absence of feedback from non-safety-critical software components to safety-critical software components is both verified and also ensured by at least one embodiment of the present invention.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 2008Date of Patent: December 31, 2013Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Efthimios Liakos, Roland Porsch, Stefan Rothbauer, Martin Rothfelder, Michael Zanzinger, Hartmut Zeilmann
