Patent number: 8545638Abstract: A method of cleaning a food plant of the type which produces an aseptic product or a product with extended shelf life involves at least one circulation with an alkaline detergent solution and at least one circulation with an acidic cleaning solutions. The circulations take place alternatively with the alkaline detergent solution and the acidic cleaning solution. Prior to the first circulation, between each circulation and after the last circulation, rinsings with water take place. Simultaneously with the last circulation with alkaline detergent solution the plant is sterilized, and after the last circulation with the acidic cleaning solution the two last rinsings with water take place with sterile liquid.Type: GrantFiled: April 21, 2005Date of Patent: October 1, 2013Assignee: Tetra Laval Holdings & Finance SAInventors: Klaus Bake, Roland Ringstrom

Patent number: 7322283Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus in an infuser for a liquid food product. The infuser is of the type which includes a pressure vessel (1) with an inlet (2) for the product located in its upper region and an outlet (6) for the product located in its lower region. In the product inlet (2) there is a device for dividing the product entering into the pressure vessel (1) into small droplets. The infuser also includes an inlet (8) for steam. The steam inlet (8) is disposed so that steam enters into the upper region of the pressure vessel (1) through a concentric distribution chamber (9). The distribution chamber (9) is defined by the wall (10) of the pressure vessel (1), a guide plate (11) and at least one foraminated plate (12).Type: GrantFiled: June 5, 2003Date of Patent: January 29, 2008Assignee: Tetra Laval Holdings & Finance S.A.Inventors: Bengt Palm, Roland Ringström

Publication number: 20060286233Abstract: The disclosure relates to an apparatus for controlling the holding time in a holding tube in infusion heating. The infuser is of the type which consists of a pressure vessel (1) with a conical bottom region (2). The pressure vessel (1) has an inlet (3) for product in its upper region and an outlet (8) with an outlet valve (9) in the lower region. The pressure vessel (1) also has an inlet (5) for steam. In the conical bottom region (2) of the pressure vessel (1) there is disposed a conical body (6) which, to the greater part, fills the conical bottom region (2). The remaining space (7) between the bottom region (2) and the conical body (6) constitutes a holding tube. The outlet of the pressure vessel (1) is in communication with a vertical tube (11). In the vertical tube (11) there is disposed a level indicator (14) which controls the level in the holding tube in that the level indicator (14) controls the outlet valve (9).Type: ApplicationFiled: February 9, 2004Publication date: December 21, 2006Applicant: TETRA LAVAL HOLDINGS & FINANACE SAInventors: Rune Celin, Roland Ringstrom

Publication number: 20060237859Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device in a steam injector (1). The steam injector (1) is of the type which comprises an injector housing (2) with an inlet (4) for steam and an inlet (3) for the product which is to be treated. In the injector housing (2) there is also an outlet (7) for the ready-treated product. In the injector (1), the steam is brought together with the product. The device comprises a throttle washer (8) which is placed immediately after the product outlet (7). The throttle washer (8) entails that the pressure is raised immediately before the product leaves the injector (1). The pressure increase entails an improved steam distribution in the product and that the risk of sedimentation in the product is counteracted. The device also entails that disturbing noise that may occur in the injector (1) is considerably reduced.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 27, 2004Publication date: October 26, 2006Applicant: TETRA LAVAL HOLDINGS & FINANACE SAInventors: Franck Lopez, Roland Ringstrom

Patent number: 5443857Abstract: A method of sterilizing a liquid milk based product comprises indirect preheating of the product and final heating to a sterilization temperature 140.degree.-150.degree. C. by direct steam injection. The product is cooled by so called flash-cooling at which steam corresponding to the added amount of steam is evaporated. The product is cooled by indirect cooling. It is now proposed that the product prior to the flash-cooling is cooled from the sterilization temperature 140.degree.-150.degree. C. to a temperature in the interval 90.degree.-120.degree. C. in an indirect, first cooling step after which the product is cooled by flash-cooling to a temperature of 70.degree.-85.degree. C. The apparatus for sterilization comprises a balance vessel (1) connected to an indirectly working first heat exchanger (4) for heating of the milk based product. A steam injection nozzle (6) is arranged in a pipe line out from the heat exchanger (4).Type: GrantFiled: March 11, 1994Date of Patent: August 22, 1995Assignee: Tetra Laval Holdings & Finance S.A.Inventors: Olle Arph, Bengt Palm, Bozena Malmgren, Roland Ringstrom
