  • Patent number: 11983100
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for automated testing of systems and applications. A first computing device may be in data communication with a second computing device. The first computing device can receive a fault instruction specifying receive a fault instruction specifying a fault to inject into a virtual compute instance, parameters for the fault, a duration of the fault, and an identifier of the virtual compute instance. The first computing device can then send a command to a second computing device that hosts the virtual compute instance, wherein the command specifies at least the fault, the parameters for the fault, and the virtual compute instance. In turn, the second computing device can receive the command from the first computing device, save a pre-fault state of the virtual compute instance, and then introduce the fault into the virtual compute instance.

  • Patent number: 8864255
Abstract: Printing methods are provided. In one method, printing an inkjet image using a liquid hydrophilic inkjet ink onto a surface of a semi-absorbent recording medium generating a toner image having toner particles arranged conforming to the inkjet image and transferring the toner image onto the recording medium where an unabsorbed volume of the inkjet ink is present on the recording medium. The toner particles manage unabsorbed volumes of the inkjet ink to protect the recording medium from image artifacts that can be created by an unabsorbed volume of the inkjet ink on the surface without a liquid management toner image.

  • Publication number: 20130162705
Abstract: Printers are provided. In one printer, an inkjet image is printed on a receiver using a hydrophilic ink capturing an image of the first print after a predetermined period of absorption and local areas the receiver that have reached a threshold level of non-uniform distortion and where additional ink remains for absorption are identified. A liquid management toner image is generated that provides toner particles for transfer onto the receiver in the identified areas in register with the inkjet print as non-uniformly distorted; and transferring the liquid management toner image onto the receiver. The liquid management toner image reduces absorption of ink in the receiver in the identified areas control the extent of distortion in the area.

  • Publication number: 20050108103
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for determining whether to attempt to sell a product or service to a potential client is provided. In one embodiment, a set of criteria questions identified as being important in determining whether to attempt to sell the offering to the potential client are determined. Then a set of possible answers to each of the criteria questions is also determined. A respective criteria question weighting factor is assigned to each criteria question and an answer weighting factor is assigned to each potential answer for each respective criteria question. Answers to each of the criteria questions are determined and a qualifying score is calculated. The qualifying score allows different potential clients to be compared to one another as to which is more likely to be receptive to the offered product or service and allows determinations as to which potential customers to target for attempted sale of the product or service in a systematic and repeatable fashion.

  • Patent number: 5956083
Abstract: A camera for recording motion sequences which may be selected for forming an integral image. The camera includes an image capture device for capturing a scene action as a motion sequence of image frame signals; and a first storage device for storing the motion sequence. A comb subset of the motion sequence is selected; and a second storage device which may be the same or different from the first storage device, stores the selected comb subset of the motion sequence. A method of obtaining in a camera such as the foregoing camera, a set of images from which a lenticular motion image can be formed, is further provided.

  • Patent number: 4023351
Abstract: A device for injecting and igniting a fuel in a flow of air, comprising a bular duct in which are generated an internal flow of rotating air and an intermediate flow containing fuel which is sandwiched between the internal flow and an external flow of rotating air, in which ignition is effected by a central electrode placed in the axis of the tubular duct and defining within the latter an annular channel which narrows around the downstream end of the central electrode to form an annular gap of uniform width along the entire extent of its circumference, in such a way that a difference in electrical potential applied between the electrode and the tubular duct causes sparks to jump between the free end of the electrode and the tubular duct across the internal flow and the intermediate flow.
