Abstract: A strap driving device for a strapping machine including an insertion-return unit; a tensioning unit; and guide channel portions for the strap which lead toward the device for inserting, returning and tensioning the strap and away from the strap driving device, with the guide channel portions being provided with cheeks guiding the strap along both sides of its flat sides, wherein rollers on one side of the insertion, return and tensioning unit and the cheeks of the guide channel portions are mounted preferably in a stationary manner on the same side while the cheeks of the guide channel portions on the other side are mounted on a movable carrier which is displaceable, using an actuation device, between a working position with closed pairs of rollers and guide channel portions and a service position with open pairs of rollers and guide channel portions.

The conveyor-belt-type guide walls are mounted on the machine for displacement crosswise of the conveyance direction and can be set moving crosswise of the stack of products by driving means. This transverse motion may be in particular a transverse upsetting motion.

Abstract: A packaging line for periodicals, magazines and similar printed products comprises at least four of the following functional components a first strapping device for the longitudinal or cross-strapping of the stack of products arriving from a compensating stacker or the like, a top sheet feeder, a film wrapping device for wrapping the stack of products with a packaging film and for welding the packaging film on two opposing sides of the stack of products, a second strapping device for the longitudinal strapping of the stack of products, a welding device for welding the sides of the packaging film which have remained unwelded in the film wrapping device, and a third strapping device for cross-strapping the stack of products.

Abstract: A retensioning device for strapping machines is provided with a pair of tape tensioning rollers comprising a stationary counter roller and a pivoting roller which can be adjusted towards it. A strapping tape is guided through the nip and via an angle of wrap round the pivoting roller. The pivoting roller is mounted on a pivoting lever which can be loaded with a defined force. The retensioning force building up in the strapping tape is opposed to the loading force in such a way that the pivoting roller lifts momentarily from the counter roller when the loading force is exceeded and therefore interrupts the retensioning process.

Abstract: An apparatus for the intermediate storage of a strap to be supplied and delivered discontinuously in a machine is provided with a supply arrangement for the strap; a storage drum, which is disposed downstream thereof and which comprises an inlet for the strap, an ensuing helical storage channel for the storage of the strap, the radial extension of which exceeds its axial extension, which corresponds to the width of the strap, as well as an outlet, which adjoins the storage channel; and a discharge arrangement for the strap, which is disposed downstream of the storage drum.

Abstract: A looping machine for the looping of objects such as stacks of products, packages and the like, is provided with a machine frame, a work table, a strap guiding frame disposed on the work table for fitting a looping strap as a loose loop around the object to be looped which is disposed on the work table within the strap guiding frame, an insertion device for inserting the looping strap into the strap guiding frame, a withdrawal device for withdrawing the looping strap from the strap guiding frame and for fitting the strap around the object to be looped, a tensioning device for tightening the looping strap around the object, and height detection device for the object to be looped.

Abstract: A cross stacker comprising an integrated looping arrangement serves for alternate deposit of in particular folded printed products on a stack and for the subsequent looping of the stack with the help of a looping strip. Suitably, such a cross stacker is provided with a machine table, a working table, a rotary table integrated in the working table and having a catcher for the printed products to be stacked, and a looping arrangement, which is integrated in the cross stacker and which comprises an insertion, tensioning and welding device as well as a strip guide for the guidance of the inserted looping strip as a loose loop around the finished stack.

Abstract: A printing device for objects, which are continuously moved forward, in particular for parcels, wrapped magazine piles or the like, comprises a transport path, alongside of which the objects can be transported at a defined rate of feed. By means of an adjustable matrix printing head the surface to be printed of the objects can be printed in contactless manner when they pass the printing head. A scanning member, related to the transport direction of the objects, is arranged at a distance before the printing head. The scanning member scans the position of the surface to be printed of the objects and tracks the printing head according to the position of the surface to be printed of the objects by a corresponding control of an adjustment drive of the printing head.

Abstract: A looping apparatus for the looping of a product stack with a looping strip. A table is provided so that the product stack can be driven into the looping apparatus and out of it by a conveying device. Further, a strip guide is provided on the table so that the looping strip can be slung as a loose loop around the product stack. An insertion and withdrawal arrangement serves to insert the looping strip and tighten it around the product stack. A connecting arrangement in the form of a welding head fixes the loop of strip that tautly wraps the product stack. The strip guide has mechanically working guide passage sections and, above the table, at least one free distance in air, across which the looping strip is guided when inserted into the strip guide.

Abstract: A tensioning device for a packaging tape, which is slung around a stack of goods in a packaging station and of which the free end is held there, has a driving plate drivable by a motor around an axis of rotation with a bearing surface for the tape. Clamping elements each having a clamping surface are associated with the driving plate. At least one guiding element is provided for the clamping elements, by means of which, in a closing area smaller than the surrounding angle of the tape around the bearing surface, the clamping elements can be brought into a position, in which the tape is non-positively held between the clamping surfaces and the bearing surface.
