  • Patent number: 9878322
Abstract: A pipetting unit and a method of using the pipetting unit for pipetting a volume V1 of test liquid for carrying out an in vitro diagnostic test are presented. The method comprises dipping a nozzle of a pipetting unit into a test liquid and aspirating a volume V4 of the test liquid larger than the volume V1 required for carrying out the test. The method further comprises dipping the pipetting unit into a wash liquid and dispensing a volume V2 equal or smaller than V4 minus V1 of the test liquid into the wash liquid. The method further comprises dipping the pipetting unit into a reaction liquid and dispensing the volume V1 of test liquid required for the test.

  • Patent number: 8778281
Abstract: A sample preparation dosing unit for liquid dosing is provided comprising an inlet port and an outlet port fluidically coupling the sample preparation dosing unit to a supply and target, respectively; a pump, fluidically arranged between the inlet port and the outlet port; an outlet flow restrictor with an outlet flow resistance, fluidically arranged between a pump outlet and outlet port; and a control arrangement with a branch, a control valve, and a control flow restrictor with a control flow resistance. The branch divides the flow at the pump outlet into an outlet flow through the outlet flow restrictor and into a control flow through the control flow restrictor. The control flow downstream of the control flow restrictor is fed, depending on the state of the control valve, either into the outlet port thereby merging with the outlet flow downstream of the outlet flow restrictor, or into a bypass conduit.

  • Patent number: 6216542
Abstract: The invention relates to an internal parallel motion force sensor containing a rectangular box load body fixedly connected to a measuring transducer and an electronic evaluation unit in a gas and humidity tight manner. The load body has an axal longitudinal bore hole on one of its halves. On the other half it has a hollow bore hole coaxial thereto and which is approximately the same length, leaving a rod-shaped lever. Two identical notches in the middle of the load body are fitted with two flat parallel-moving spiral springs in two opposite lying outer surfaces. A membrane is located between the bore holes, the notches and two other notches. Said membrane acts as an elastic joint for the lever. Deformation of the load body by identical opposing forces is transmitted to the lever by the spiral springs, converted into an electric signal by the measuring transducer on the open end thereof and transmitted by the evaluation unit in digital form.
