When an allocation request is made for a virtual memory space having a given memory size, a free partition is selected, a virtual sub-partition is selected corresponding to a combination of sectors having a minimum total size covering the given memory size of the virtual memory to be allocated, and free sectors of the physical memory are selected corresponding to the selected combination. A determination is made of a correspondence table between the selected virtual partition and the initial physical addresses of the selected free sectors, and a virtual address is generated.

    Abstract: A method for controlling a low-power state of a pair of serial interfaces using a pair of flow-control signal lines may include enabling a first of the flow-control lines by a first one of the interfaces for signaling a transmission request to the second interface. The method may also include, in response to the transmission request, waking up to a live state from a low-power state and enabling a second flow-control line for signaling a transmission authorization to the first interface. In response to the transmission authorization, the method may include initiating a transmission of a message to the second interface, and upon reaching an offset before the end of the message transmission, disabling the first flow-control line by the first interface. The method may also include, at the end of the message transmission, disabling the second flow-control line and going back into the low-power state.

    Abstract: A process for performing Near Field Communication (NFC) between a first NFC device and a second NFC device is provided. The first NFC device includes an NFC transceiver and an FM receiver which are both integrated into the same chip. The provided process involves initializing the first NFC device to perform a device detection polling loop for detecting a second NFC device. The device detection polling loop has activity detection periods, which occur periodically. The first NFC transceiver may then perform a slicing procedure, which slices the activity detection periods into small time slots. Each time slot has a duration smaller than a predetermined value so as to reduce the noise generated by harmonics of the NFC operation frequency which might be audible to the user.

    Abstract: A radio controller arrangement for controlling communication signal timing in a duplex radio-frequency TDMA radio includes a TDMA timer that generates a receive timing signal and a microprocessor circuit. The microprocessor circuit commands the TDMA timer to activate the radio to receive a signal and converts the signal into packets having synchronization and data fields. The TDMA timer synchronizes a beginning of a data collection operation to the synchronization field and locates the beginning of the data field based on the end of the synchronization field. The TDMA timer collects data from the data field until it detects the end of the data field. The TDMA timer then commands deactivation of the radio. The radio controller arrangement may be incorporated into a communication device or used in connection with a method for controlling communication signal timing.

    Abstract: A clock signal is extracted from a received signal. An edge detector detects edges of the received signal, where the received signal transitions between a logic 0 and a logic 1. A center between each pair of consecutive edges is determined. Each center which is not within an associated correction window is discarded. An extracted clock signal is generated. The phase of the extracted clock signal is varied based on the centers between each pair of consecutive edges which are not discarded. In one embodiment, a current correction window size is varied based on whether an immediate previous center was within an immediate previous correction window. When the immediate previous center is discarded because it is not within the immediate previous correction window, the current correction window size is enlarged.
