  • Patent number: 7158581
Abstract: A method for determining the parameters and characteristics of an n-port network such as an amplifier is described. The parameters are determined by applying an input signal train or sequence with different amplitudes and measuring an output signal train, taking into account a temporal displacement that the output signal train has in relation to the input signal train. The temporal displacement is determined by a cross-correlation of the output signal train with the input signal train.

  • Publication number: 20060288658
Abstract: An apparatus for the artificial ageing of blocks, in particular concrete blocks, clinker bricks and natural stone blocks, has a base on which the blocks can be placed in such a way that their surfaces to be treated and the adjoining edges are exposed. Essentially freely movable striking bodies are used for treating the surfaces and the adjoining edges of the blocks. A vibrating device sets the blocks and the striking bodies in motion relative to one another in such a way that the striking bodies act on the surfaces and the exposed edges of the blocks. In this case, the striking bodies are movably fastened to a retaining device in such a way that the striking bodies are freely movable within a defined region of the surface of the blocks.

  • Publication number: 20060292708
Abstract: A circuit arrangement has a sensor electrode, a control circuit which is coupled to the sensor electrode via an input, and a current source which is coupled via a control input to a control output of the control circuit. The current source can be controlled by the control circuit. The control circuit is arranged so that if the current signal at its input is outside a predetermined current intensity range, the control circuit controls the current source so that the current source sets the electric current generated by it so that the electric current flowing into the input of the control circuit is brought to a predetermined current intensity value. Furthermore, the control circuit is set up in such a way that if the current signal at its input is within the predetermined current intensity range, the control circuit controls the current source so that the current source holds the electric current generated by it at the present value.

  • Publication number: 20060290430
Abstract: A receiving amplifier includes a semiconductor body with a first node, a second node and an amplifier circuit. The amplifier includes at least one field-effect transistor, a first input, and a second input. A capacitive element is arranged between the inputs of the amplifier circuit, and a tuned circuit whose resonant frequency can be tuned is connected upstream of the amplifier circuit and contains a variable-capacitance element that is connected in parallel with the element in the amplifier circuit. Two inductive elements are also provided, wherein the first inductive element is connected to the first node and the second inductive element is connected to the second node. This results in a series tuned circuit, which leads to a voltage increase at the resonant frequency, and results in an improved signal-to-noise ratio for a signal which is supplied to the receiving amplifier.

  • Patent number: 7152742
Abstract: Comminuted carpet pieces are fed to a first stirred tank together with an aqueous solution containing separating salt, to form a first suspension, which is fed to a first mechanical separating stage. A first high-solids phase, a second high-solids phase containing polymer fiber material, and a liquid phase are obtained therefrom. The second high-solids phase is mixed with a water-containing separation solution in a stirred tank, to give a second suspension, which is fed to a second mechanical separating stage. A third high-solids phase, a polymer fiber material-rich phase and a liquid phase are withdrawn therefrom. An acid which is stronger than H2CO3 is introduced into the stirred tank together with the water-containing separation solution, and the pH of the liquid in the stirred tank is adjusted to 2–6.

  • Patent number: 7154064
Abstract: A method of improving weld quality between aluminum members by slowing the rate of solidification of a molten weld trough into solidified material. Upper and lower aluminum members are positioned together in contact between facing surfaces thereof to expose a first outer surface of the upper aluminum member to laser irradiation. A welding laser beam is moved in a path over the first outer surface, wherein the welding laser beam has an energy and width to progressively melt a trough of molten metal to a depth through the upper aluminum member and into the lower aluminum member. The molten metal in the trough has a void filled with gas, and the molten metal re-solidifies into re-solidified metal after the passage of the welding laser beam. An area in and around the trough is heated to slow the rate of solidification of the molten metal into the re-solidified metal, thereby preventing entrainment of the gas within the re-solidified metal.
