  • Publication number: 20220395376
Abstract: The present invention relates to a glenoid component (100, 600, 800, 1000, 1200) for shoulder prosthesis, comprising: a glenoid coupling surface (101, 1001), adapted to be fixed to a bone and comprising a first convex portion (102) having a first outer edge (103, 1003) which defines a development plane (104, 1004); a prosthetic coupling surface (105, 1005), opposite the glenoid coupling surface (101, 1001) and adapted to house a second prosthetic component of the shoulder prosthesis, the prosthetic coupling surface (105, 1005) comprising a second portion (106) having a second outer edge (107, 1007) which defines a reference plane (108, 1008); wherein the glenoid component (100, 1000) provides a predetermined offset (109, 809, 1009) between the development plane (104, 1004) and the reference plane (108, 1008), so as to define an increased thickness of the glenoid component (100, 1000) adapted to compensate for a bone deficit. The present invention also relates to a shoulder prosthesis.

  • Publication number: 20220151788
Abstract: A glenoid anchor for a shoulder joint prosthesis, fixed to a glenoid cavity of a shoulder blade. The glenoid anchor consists only of a structurally independent pin, with an internally hollow conical sleeve, which has a tapered distal end configured for being directly fixed to the glenoid cavity and an open proximal end configured for being removably attached to a prosthesis component. The prosthesis component is a lug of either one of an anatomical prosthesis or a reverse prosthesis. The glenoid anchor is configured for removal of said lug in order to convert the anatomical prosthesis to the reverse prosthesis or vice-versa, while keeping the structurally independent pin inside the glenoid cavity. An outer surface of the sleeve of said pin has a trabecular structure for favouring osteogenesis and bone integration.

  • Patent number: 11259931
Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved glenoid anchor for a shoulder joint prosthesis, in particular a convertible prosthesis, of the type intended to be fixed to the glenoid cavity of the shoulder blade and comprising: —a pin (2) with an internally hollow and essentially thimble-like conical sleeve (12), which has a tapered distal end (3) and an open proximal end (4); —an annular recess (15) formed inside the cavity (13) of the pin (2) in the vicinity of said open proximal end (4), for receiving by means of snap-engagement an edge (34) of a lug (30) of a prosthesis component (9); —at least one pair of oppositely arranged anti-rotation notches (16, 17) in the proximity of said annular groove (15) for receiving by means of snap fit oppositely arranged teeth (18, 19) of the same lug (30) intended to be snap-engaged together with said pin (2).
