  • Patent number: 7677636
Abstract: A motor vehicle configuration includes a folding roof and an electro-hydraulic system for moving the folding roof between a closed position and an open position. A roof actuation request for moving the folding roof from the closed position to the open position is blocked if the total number of roof actuation requests occurring in a period when the engine is off has reached a given maximum number in order to protect the vehicle battery. A display provides a driver alert information if the total number of roof actuation requests occurring in the period when the engine is off has reached the given maximum number. A method for controlling a power-operated vehicle roof is also provided.

  • Patent number: 7639019
Abstract: A method for monitoring a battery includes the steps of activating a power conservation mode of an electrical system of a motor vehicle, measuring a duration of activation of the power conservation mode of the electrical system, and measuring a quiescent voltage of a vehicle battery of the motor vehicle. A battery status is determined based on the duration of activation of the power conservation mode and based on the quiescent voltage of the vehicle battery. Information indicative of the battery status is provided such that the information is perceivable outside the motor vehicle. A flashing pattern of a light emitting diode may for example indicate the battery status. A motor vehicle having a battery monitoring configuration is also provided.

  • Patent number: 7441474
Abstract: A sensor system is provided for a control device of an automatically shiftable transmission and/or with automatic manually shifted transmission. The system includes a shift selector lever movable in at least one shift gate for setting at least the positions Forward, Neutral, reverse, and park (stop). A position for manual shifting may also be provided for access to at least one position for the manual upshifting and/or a position for the manual downshifting of the gears of the transmission. A first sensor element is associated with each possible position. A first signal transmitter is arranged at the shift selector lever to detect the position of the shift selector lever. The first sensor elements and/or the first signal transmitter are arranged to detect a positioning of the shift selector lever at least between the positions Forward, Neutral and/or Reverse.

  • Publication number: 20020189381
Abstract: The invention relates to a sensor system (1) for the control device of an automatic transmission, especially for an automated manual transmission, comprising a gear-selection lever (3), displaceable in at least one gear-shift gate, for selecting at least the positions forward (E), neutral (N), reverse (R), preferably for additionally selecting a parking brake (stop) position, preferably one position (M) for manual shifting and at least one position (+) for manually upshifting and/or a position (−) for manually downshifting the gears. At least one sensor element (E1, E2, N1, R1) is associated with every possible position (E, N or R) for determining the position of the gear-selection lever (3) and at least one first signal transmitter (A) is mounted on the gear-selection lever (3).

  • Patent number: 6442471
Abstract: A control system controls operation of a vehicle drive train during acceleration to avoid regions of engine torque and speed which result in high emissions. The system responds to operator control signal, engine speed signals and optionally engine temperature signals and provides output signals to control the fuel injection to thereby control engine torque.

  • Patent number: 6324456
Abstract: In a method for online management of a drive train of a motor vehicle having a CVT transmission, in order to establish the engine speed for a required power output, a path through a predetermined composite performance graph—in which a performance quality characteristic is plotted as a function of power output and engine speed—is identified online, said path being optimal with respect to predetermined optimization criteria.

  • Patent number: 5787809
Abstract: The invention relates to a process and apparatus for the production of printed pages from a web that is moved continuously in the transport direction in rotary offset printing and printed on one or both sides, is heat set and then, by being transferred to at least a first cooling roller, is cooled in a first curvature direction with a first curvature radius, the web then being separated into the printed pages optionally after folding. The web is inverted, before being transferred to at least the first cooling roller, with a second curvature radius to obtain smooth, unrippled pages.
