  • Publication number: 20220192792
Abstract: A set of self-ligating brackets for orthodontics includes brackets having a base and a block arranged on the base. An occlusal wall extends from the block and has at least one occlusal ligature wing. A gingival wall extends from the block and has at least one gingival ligature wing. A slot, which separates the occlusal wall and the gingival wall from one another, has the same minimum clear width for the brackets of the set and extends continuously in a direction from mesial to distal. The slot also has a base area on which an archwire lies during orthodontic treatment. A passage extends in the gingival-occlusal direction through the block and is delimited by a lingually located surface and by a labially located surface. Resilient clips with a labial leg and with a lingual leg are interconnected by an occlusally arranged portion.

  • Patent number: 7837465
Abstract: An orthodontic expansion screw having two bodies whose distance from each other can be changed by means of a spindle that engages both bodies. The spindle includes an actuation part for effecting a torque for readjusting the spindle, and a straight-line guide for engaging both bodies and guiding the bodies along two guide axes that are parallel to each other while preventing a relative rotation of the bodies when their distance from each other is being changed. A friction brake is provided that presses onto the actuation part of the spindle and thus generates a frictional force that renders a rotation of the spindle in both directions of rotation more difficult in order to prevent inadvertent readjustment of the spindle.

  • Patent number: 6832911
Abstract: A device for relocating a lower jaw relative to an upper jaw having a first sleeve with a first holder mounted on its one end, and a second sleeve. An internal thread is located in one of the two sleeves and a matching external thread on the other sleeve, by which they are screwed together over varying lengths. A third sleeve having one end, i.e. the end facing the first holder, is mounted on the second sleeve and is adapted to dampen impacts that may act in the longitudinal direction. A rod is arranged in the third sleeve for longitudinal displacement. A second holder is mounted outside the third sleeve on that end of the rod which faces away from the first holder. A stop is provided on the rod or in the neighborhood of the second holder, and abuts directly or indirectly against that end of the third sleeve which faces away from the first holder and toward the second holder. The length of the rod is selected to ensure that in its abutting position it will extend right into the first sleeve.
