  • Patent number: 10931279
Abstract: Battery-powered electronic switching device comprising a powerless standby mode, including a sensor, a controller, a battery and a wireless communication module, wherein the controller can be activated via a switching transistor connected to the battery, wherein the switching transistor for activation can be set into a conductive state upon impinging light on a photoreceiver, wherein the control terminal of the switching transistor is connected to the controller so that it can remain permanently conductive, wherein the photoreceiver comprises a cover, which is suitable for influencing the incidence of light, and the controller comprises means for switching off the switching transistor in order to set the electronic switching device after a successful test, in response to a control command or after a predetermined period of time into the powerless standby mode.

  • Patent number: 10145943
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for operating an optical proximity switch, wherein an object distance E is determined by means of a time-of-flight method and a specified range is limited by an adjustable switching distance SAE. The switching output (6) is activated at an object distance E1<SAE and deactivated at an object distance E2>SAE+H(SAE), wherein a hysteresis H (SAE,R) depending on the switching distance SAE and on a reflectivity R is stored in the proximity switch, and, after the switching output (6) has been activated, the reflectivity R of the object is determined in addition to the object distance E2 and the switching output (6) is deactivated again only when the condition E2>SAE+H(SAE,R) is satisfied. The invention further relates to an optical proximity switch for performing the method according to the invention.

  • Patent number: 7176443
Abstract: An optoelectronic sensor, especially a reflection photoelectric barrier and a reflection light sensing device, for detection of an object (2) in a monitored area, with a housing (3) with transmitting and receiving optics (6) and with an evaluation circuit (10). The optoelectronic sensor has an especially simple structure in that there is only one single optoelectronic transmitting and receiving component (14) which sequentially acts as both the opto-transmitter and the opto-receiver in succession in time.

  • Patent number: 5668300
Abstract: A calibration process for setting the switching point of a sensor which produces an output signal depending on whether a switching point has been exceeded or has not been reached by a sensor signal produced by a condition being sensed exceeds the switching point, and in which the value of the switching point is determined using the values of the sensor signal in the uninfluenced and in the influenced state. Operating reliability of the sensor is improved by determining the location of the switching point during the calibration process under the condition of essentially identical operating reserves of the sensor in the uninfluenced and in the influenced state.
