  • Patent number: 6683727
Abstract: An optical arrangement for symmetrizing beams which includes a plurality of laser diodes arranged next to one another. The plurality of laser diodes emit beams which are asymmetrical relative to a first direction and a second direction, with the second direction being perpendicular to the first direction. A microcylinder lens optics is arranged in an inclined manner around an optical axis. The beams emitted by the laser diodes in the first direction are collimated and deflected at different angles and are separated thereby. A direction element is arranged downstream of the microcylinder lens optics. The direction element deflects a beam of each individual laser diode in the second direction, whereby each of these beams is deflected by a different angle in the second direction, in such a way that central points of the individual beams converge at a predetermined distance in the second direction.

  • Patent number: 6337873
Abstract: An optical arrangement is provided for balancing the beam of one or more high-power diode lasers (HP-DL) arranged one above another. The beam, which is known to diverge very differently in the direction of the pn junction and perpendicular to the pn junction of the emitters of an HP-DL arranged in a row is imaged at a point with high power density and high beam quality the arrangement. Present for this purpose are optical devices which spread out the radiation in a mutually offset fashion in the direction of the pn junction while the radiation is superimposed perpendicular to the pn junction.

  • Patent number: 6151168
Abstract: The invention relates to an optical array for symmetrization of the beam of multiple sequentially fixed adjacent laser diodes, their respective output radiation being asymmetrical in relation to a first and a second direction that are perpendicular to each other. A cylindrical lens with sufficient isoplanacy is mounted on the tilted optical axis (z axis), which is perpendicular to the plane predetermined by the two directions (x, y). The lens collimates and displaces the output beam bundle of the individual laser diodes in the first direction (x). The cylindrical lens is mounted downstream a directional element that deflects the beam bundle of the individual laser diodes in the second direction (y) with different deflecting angles respectively in such a way that the centers of gravity of the individual beam bundles converge at a predetermined spacing.
