Patent number: 10047003Abstract: An enamel powder for manufacturing a coating is present as a mixture which contains 100 parts of a glass powder, 0.1-7.5 parts of ceramic fibers, glass fibers or carbon fibers, and alternatively to one another or in combination with one another 10-21 parts of a powdery oxidic compound of a light metal or 1-5 parts of a powder of a heavy metal. A metal component provided with the enamel powder withstands a flow of hot gas against it. The invention specifies a method, by means of which such metal components can be provided with an enamel coating.Type: GrantFiled: August 4, 2014Date of Patent: August 14, 2018Assignee: Nemak, S.A.B. de C.V.Inventors: Rolf Gosch, Wolfgang Kuhn, Annett Bretschneider

Publication number: 20180148845Abstract: A metal component which has a face which during use is thermally or mechanically more highly loaded than the environment thereof and which is at least partially covered with a glaze or enamel layer and a method for the production thereof. The metal component requires no specific limitations during the thermal processing operation and nonetheless ensures optimum protection for the surfaces which are highly loaded during use. The glaze or enamel layer contains, with respect to the enamel frit used to produce the enamel coating, from 2 to 35% by weight of an admixture of particles which consist of at least one material from glass, organic plastics materials, and synthetic oxide mixtures or melts, which each have a thermal expansion coefficient of a maximum of 50×10?7 K?1 and a melting temperature of at least 500° C.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 6, 2016Publication date: May 31, 2018Inventors: Wolfgang Kühn, Annett Bretschneider, Rolf Gosch, Bernhard Stauder, Jurij Gontarev

Publication number: 20160348609Abstract: The invention provides a cast part which is cast from a casting material and into which a channel is formed which gas flows through in operation, wherein the channel is at least in sections delimited by a separately prefabricated metal insert which is cast into the cast part. In order that such a cast part can withstand the highest thermal and mechanical stresses in the area of its gas-conveying channel, the invention proposes that the insert on its inner surface assigned to the gas and on its outer surface assigned to the casting material is in each case at least in sections coated in each case with a glaze or enamel coat.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 20, 2015Publication date: December 1, 2016Applicant: Nemak, S.A.B. de C.V.Inventors: Henning Meishner, Rolf Gosch, Annett Bretschneider, Wolfgang Kühn

Patent number: 8127737Abstract: An unfinished cylinder head casting for producing a cylinder head for internal combustion engines powered with diesel fuel includes a sealing surface, intended for mounting in a finished state on a corresponding sealing surface of an engine block, and designed on a sealing surface section of the unfinished cylinder head casting. A thickness of the sealing surface section in a casting state exhibits a machining allowance in relation to its set thickness, obtained after a material-removing finishing of the sealing surface. The sealing surface includes a combustion chamber region, associated with a combustion chamber formed in the engine block. In the case of such a cylinder head, an optimum load-bearing capacity is achieved in a simple manner in that a combustion chamber region sealing surface section machining allowance amounts to a maximum of 15% of the machining allowance of the sealing surface section in the remaining region of the sealing surface.Type: GrantFiled: July 18, 2006Date of Patent: March 6, 2012Assignee: Hydro Aluminium Mandl & Berger GmbHInventor: Rolf Gosch

Patent number: 6715535Abstract: A method of casting has a mold assembled on a base plate. The finished mold is rotated by approximately 180° around a horizontal rotational axis. A casting container with an upwardly positioned aperture end, removed from the mold, is filled with melt for one casting operation. The casting container is sealingly coupled by the aperture end to the ingate end of the mold. The mold, together with its contacting casting container, is rotated by approximately 180° around a horizontal axis. Accordingly, the melt reaches the mold, and the casting container is removed from the coupled position away from the mold.Type: GrantFiled: April 16, 2001Date of Patent: April 6, 2004Assignee: VAW mandl & berger GmbHInventors: Friedhelm Kahn, Joachim Kahn, Gerhard Eisenberger, Horst Paul Grüness, Walter Hauder, Johann Winkler, Peter Stika, Johann Preisinger, Peter Jungbauer, Klaus Schröter, Rolf Gosch

Patent number: 5524700Abstract: A supply vessel containing a molten bath has a discharge opening which is controlled by a valve. The discharge opening is located in a vertical plane and has a horizontal axis. The valve includes a set of valve plates having through openings for the passage of molten material. The valve plates are rotatable relative to one another in order to bring the through openings into and out of register and thus open and close the valve. One of the valve plates sits adjacent the discharge opening and is stationary while another of the valve plates is remote from the discharge opening and is freely rotatable. A mold having an inlet, a casting cavity and feeders between the inlet and casting cavity is brought into engagement with the freely rotatable valve plate. The mold is positioned with the casting cavity below the upper surface of the molten bath and with the feeders below the casting cavity. The valve is opened and the casting cavity filled with molten material via the mold inlet and the feeders.Type: GrantFiled: February 15, 1994Date of Patent: June 11, 1996Assignee: EB Bruhl Aluminiumtechnik GmbHInventor: Rolf Gosch

Patent number: 5386966Abstract: A rotary slide valve for controlling the flow of molten material from a discharge opening of a holding vessel into an inlet of a rotatable casting mold has three valve plates which are in face-to-face contact. A first valve plate at the inflow side of the valve is fixed and is designed to abut the holding vessel peripherally of its discharge opening. A second valve plate at the discharge side of the valve is designed to engage the mold peripherally of the mold inlet and to rotate with the mold between two terminal positions. The third valve plate is sandwiched between the others and can be driven in rotation relative to both. Each of the valve plates is provided with a through opening. The valve is designed so that, at least in the two terminal positions of the discharge valve plate, the openings of all the valve plates can be brought into register and the openings of two of the valve plates can be brought out of register.Type: GrantFiled: February 15, 1994Date of Patent: February 7, 1995Assignee: EB Bruhl Aluminiumtechnik GmbHInventor: Rolf Gosch
