  • Patent number: 6186188
Abstract: A coupling device for the releasable connection of a lifting element, in particular of a jacquard machine, to at least one lifting element of a warp thread in a weaving machine. The preferred coupling device connects a sinker cord of a jacquard machine to a harness cord of the harness of a weaving machine. The coupling device has a first coupling part assigned to the lifting element and a second coupling part assigned to the harness cord. The coupling parts execute a radial relative movement during coupling and uncoupling. The coupling device provides for rotational alignment of the two coupling parts with one another. At least one coupling part is assigned or capable of being assigned a rotational alignment mechanism. The coupling device is used in a system which rapidly connects and disconnects many connectors at the same time.

  • Patent number: 6050302
Abstract: A method and a device for fast setup or retrofit of a weaving machine, from/to which a warping beam and auxiliary shedding mechanism are removed or supplied for a change in warp and/or for a change in article to be woven. A harness is provided for the weaving machine, which is applied or removed as a unit for the setup or retrofit, under loosening and/or closing of connections to a Jacquard machine and also under release or attachment in the region of a low-tension device.

  • Patent number: 4614969
Abstract: A method and apparatus for producing an endless tubular felt includes superposing layers of tubular felt one upon the other and binding of the superposed layers together. A marking line is applied to the top surface of the superposed layers in continuous manner as the felt is trained about the driven rolls. The rolls include needle segments which move the felt axially of the roll. A scanner scans the position of the marking line shortly before the completion of one revolution. A controller compares the position of the marking line with a reference and causes the needle means to be adjusted to that the marking line corresponds with the reference.

  • Patent number: 4497086
Abstract: A regulating apparatus for obtaining a uniform sliver delivered by a carding machine includes an rpm setter connected to a roller drive of the carding machine for determining an operational speed for the drive, a signal generator for producing a first signal as a function of actual properties of the sliver and a PI-regulator having a component determining a regulating time constant. The PI-regulator is connected to the signal generator for receiving the first signal and for generating a second, regulating signal. Further, the PI-regulator is connected to the drive for applying the second signal thereto. A regulating time constant setter is operatively connected to the component which determines a regulating time constant. The rpm setter and the regulating time constant setter cooperate for adjusting the regulating time constant setter as a function of adjustments of the rpm setter, whereby the regulating time constant of the PI-regulator is varied as a function of the rpm of the fiber-engaging roller.

  • Patent number: 4475331
Abstract: On a spinning machine, especially an open-end spinning machine, which has a plurality of spinning units (10) each with a plurality of elements (4, 41) to be controlled electrically, there is a maintenance device (2) which is movable along the machine and which can be coupled electrically to the elements (4, 41) to be controlled of the particular spinning unit (10) located in its working range. One bus line (51, 52) is provided for identical elements (4, 41) to be controlled electrically of each of a plurality of spinning units (10). Furthermore, each spinning unit (10) has a switching device (55) which can be actuated as a function of the posiiton of the maintenance device (2) and which connects the various elements (4, 41) to be controlled electrically of a spinning unit (10) to the bus lines (51, 52) which are assigned to them and to which the maintenance device (2) is constantly connected.

  • Patent number: 4246748
Abstract: A method and apparatus of detecting faulty operations of spinning units of an open-end spinning machine by monitoring the faults appearing in the yarn being produced by the machine and generating a fault signal responsive thereto. Another speed responsive signal is produced responsive to the speed that the yarn is being delivered from the spinning compartment of the machine. The fault signal is fed to a variable gain amplifier which has its gain controlled by the speed responsive signal. The signal produced by the amplifier is then differentiated, shaped, and integrated. The integrated signal is, in turn, compared with a threshold value for determining when the faults in the yarn exceed a predetermined level.

  • Patent number: 4245869
Abstract: An electromagnetic bearing system for a movable (usually rotatable) member on a stationary member has bearing coils wound on a core for producing a magnetic field for supporting the movable member. High frequency sensor currents are applied to the bearing coils or to separate sensor coils on the same core or core portion as the bearing coils. The sensor currents produce signals responsive to deviation of the movable member from a desired position in which it is to be supported. These signals are amplified to provide bearing currents which are fed to the bearing coils.

  • Patent number: 4195345
Abstract: A method and apparatus for detecting the faulty working of spinning units of an open-end spinning machine by monitoring the faults in yarn as it is fed from the spinning machine. An electrical signal is produced by a sensor indicating faults appearing in the yarn. Another signal of predetermined frequency corresponding to the speed of delivery of the yarn from the spinning machines is generated. The electrical signal produced by the sensor is electrically multiplied by the signal of predetermined frequency for producing a differential signal. This differential signal is filtered, shaped and integrated and subsequently compared with a preset threshold value for producing a signal indicating when the occurrence of faults exceed a predetermined threshold. This signal can be used for stopping the spinning unit.
