  • Patent number: 4476347
Abstract: A method and a circuit arrangement are provided for the transmission of communication signals over switching centers of a first switching network and of a second switching network operating with different transmission procedures. The transmission is executed with the assistance of a decentralized converter in which a fixed assignment between the transmission lines of the first switching network and the virtual channels to be employed on transmission lines of the second switching center for a signal transmission is defined. Of the signals to be transmitted, only the signal portions effecting the execution of network-dependent procedure divisions are converted in the converter. The data signals appearing in accordance with the network-independent procedure divisions are combined in unaltered form with the converted signal portions.

  • Patent number: 4354261
Abstract: A circuit arrangement for multi-address switching operations of digital encoded signals between a calling data terminal and a variety of called data terminals operating with different data transmission procedures is adapted for use with an electronic data switching system and comprises at least two interface circuits having input/output converting networks. External input terminals of these interface circuits are adapted for connection with respective input/output units of the electronic data switching system for each type of data terminal. Internal input/output terminals are connected to a storage unit for storing a multi-address message, including data information to be transmitted and identification information of the called data terminals.

  • Patent number: 4335456
Abstract: A method for carrying out the program controlled switching of transmitted data is described. The data are formed into bit groups, and the groups are interleaved within a time division multiplex (t.d.m.) signal frame; the position of the bit group in the frame corresponds to its channel assignment. When bit groups to be switched are received, individually with respect to each line, a request is made to the switching system. Additionally, a feeder channel address is formed from the position of the bit group within the t.d.m. frame, and in at least one coding device assigned to the lines, the feeder line address of the bit group is formed. On the basis of the feeder address (i.e., channel and line address) a feeder cell permanently assigned to each feeder line in a connection store is selected. The bit groups received during the connection establishment stage contain signaling characteristics by means of which the desired trunk address is entered into the feeder cell.

  • Patent number: 4323728
Abstract: There is disclosed a conversion circuit arrangement for switching digital data signals between data terminals operating with different data transmission procedures. The circuit arrangement adapted for use with an electronic data switching system is composed of at least two interface circuits having input/output converting networks. External terminals of these interface circuits are connected to respective input/output means of the switching system for each type of data terminal. Internal input/output terminals of the interface circuits are connected to respective terminals of a storage unit. There is provided a control unit for controlling data transmission between the interface circuits and the storage unit and vice versa such that messages are buffered in the storage unit. The stored message is converted according to the data transmission procedure of the receiving data terminal.

  • Patent number: 4307265
Abstract: A circuit arrangement is provided for the transmission of digital signals between transmitting and/or receiving stations which operate with differing data transmission procedures and with different data formats. The signal transmission respectively occurs by way of a converter unit which, like the transmitting and receiving installations, is connected to a switching system. In the train of the transmission of digital signals from a transmitting installation operating with a lower data transmission rate to a receiving installation operating with a higher data transmission rate, the digital signals emitted by the appertaining transmitting installation are first collected in the converter unit in order to be emitted to the appertaining receiving installation only given the existence of a sufficient plurality of such signals.
