Abstract: A frame assembly for a window or patio door includes an integrally moulded unitary master frame having upper and lower horizontal members, opposed first and second vertical jamb members extending between the horizontal members, and a vertical mullion midway between the first and second vertical members. An integrally moulded unitary sash frame is slidably mounted within the master frame. The sash frame can be lifted within the master frame to facilitate installation and removal of the sash frame. The mullion can include a weather buffering chamber to reduce fluid penetration from an exterior to an interior side of the frame assembly.

Abstract: A fence system includes a first extruded lineal extending lengthwise along a first longitudinal axis. The first lineal has a sidewall with at least a first slot in the sidewall and the first slot extends generally perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The fence system also includes a second extruded lineal extending lengthwise along a second longitudinal axis. The second extruded lineal includes at least a corresponding first attachment leg extending outward from the second extruded lineal and parallel to the second longitudinal axis. The first attachment leg is integrally extruded with the second extruded lineal and is received in the first slot to secure together the first and second extruded lineals.

Abstract: A rail for a railing system includes a proximal member extending lengthwise of the rail and securable to ends of balusters; a cover member extending lengthwise of the rail and disposed adjacent the proximal member; and a reinforcement member disposed between the proximal member and the cover member. The reinforcement member includes a first attachment element coupled to a first one of the proximal and cover members, and the other one of the proximal and cover members is coupled to at least one of the reinforcement member and the first one of the proximal and cover members.

Abstract: A railing apparatus includes an upper rail, a lower rail spaced below and generally parallel to the upper rail, and a plurality of balusters extending generally vertically between the upper and lower rails. Each baluster includes a hollow casing and a brace extending lengthwise within the casing, the brace having an upper end secured to the upper rail and a lower end secured to the lower rail.

Abstract: A combination of a rail, an upright, and a slide connector for attaching the rail to the upright includes a first connector part including a mounting arm secured to an underside surface of the rail adjacent one end thereof and a tongue depending generally downwardly from the mounting arm, and a second connector part including a mounting base secured to a side surface of the upright and a generally planar engagement body extending laterally outwardly from the mounting base. The engagement body has a slot therein for receiving the tongue when the rail is translated along an engagement axis from a disengaged position in which the first and second parts are generally free to move relative to each other to an engaged position in which the first and second parts are substantially inhibited from moving relative to each other, thereby attaching the rail to the upright.
