In order to achieve a butt fixing of the wheelchair, the base unit comprises at least one first support surface (20), facing away from the floor of the vehicle, that is arranged to make contact with a corresponding first support surface on the wheelchair in order to prevent the wheelchair from moving in the direction towards the floor of the vehicle when in the secured position.
