  • Patent number: 6947709
Abstract: A method for frequency calibration of attesting apparatus for testing or mobile terminals, such as mobile or cellular telephones, provided for operation in a mobile communication net includes testing apparatus that listens to an established communication based on a data communication between the mobile terminal and the mobile telecommunication net. Information signals underlying the communication are at least partially sampled and evaluated by the testing device. Based on this evaluation, a reference frequency unit incorporated in the testing device is calibrated. Preferably, bursts of the mobile terminal establishing the data communication are analyzed by testing apparatus as the information signals.

  • Publication number: 20040104857
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for testing a measurement recording device (3) that, in a first test operating mode for testing radio devices (10), is coupled, on the one hand, to a testing device (1) for testing the radio devices and, on the other hand, to a radio device. The method makes it possible to test a measurement recording device (3) for mobile telephones in a real production environment without interrupting the production process. To this end, a second test operating mode for testing the measurement recording device (3) is provided, in which the measurement recording device (3) is coupled, on the one hand, to the testing device (1) for testing the radio devices and, on the other hand, to an essentially defined terminating impedance (17), whereby the measurement recording device (3) is tested by the testing device (1) provided for testing radio devices. The invention also relates to a testing device (1) for testing radio devices and to the use thereof.

  • Patent number: 6539222
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a apparatus for determining disturbed and/or occupied frequency channels of a mobile communication net in which after registration of a mobile telephone onto a testing apparatus measurement report parameters between the mobile telephone and the testing apparatus in frequency channels to be probed are detected and evaluated. Further, a measurement report parameter is selected for the channels to be probed wherein the selected measurement report parameter is channelwise detected in the channels to be probed with a suitable RF level and compared to a threshold value, wherein the probed channel is recognized as disturbed and/or occupied when there is a significant difference of the measurement report parameter to the threshold value. Preferably, the measurement report parameters of disturbed and/or occupied frequency channels are displayed as a function of the probed channels.

  • Publication number: 20010008832
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for frequency calibration of a testing apparatus for testing or mobile terminals, such as mobile or cellular telephones, provided for operation in a mobile communication net. In order to realize a highly accurate calibration the invention suggests that the testing apparatus passively listens to an established communication based on a data communication between the mobile terminal and the mobile telecommunication net, wherein the information signals underlying the communication are at least partially sampled and evaluated by the testing device and wherein based on this evaluation a reference frequency unit incorporated in the testing device is calibrated. Preferably, the bursts of the mobile terminal establishing the data communication are analyzed by the testing apparatus as the information signals.
