  • Patent number: 5392999
Abstract: A rotor for use in an impact crusher or in a hammer mill is assembled of two or more coaxial metallic discs having neighboring hubs and axially spaced apart radially outermost portions which define annular clearances for introduction of a welding implement. Such implement is used to apply annular welded seams which bond the ends of the hubs to each other. The welded seams are provided at the peripheral surfaces of the hubs. The hubs are mechanically coupled to each other by bolts prior to making of the welded seams. The radially outermost portions of the discs are thereupon connected with hammers or beater bars, depending on the intended use of the rotor.

  • Patent number: 4384683
Abstract: Scrapped storage batteries are first preliminarily crushed to discharge acid from individual cells, thereupon rinsed by alkaline water, crushed in a hammermill and simulataneously dried by a stream of hot air; noncrushed lead pieces are discharged separately from the hammermill and the remaining crushed material is discharged in dry condition from the mill and classified into two fractions, namely a coarse lead fraction and a second fraction consisting of fine particles of lead compounds mixed with coarser pieces of plastic material.

  • Patent number: 4049206
Abstract: A comminuting machine for trash has a generally closed housing provided at its top with an inlet and its bottom with an outlet. A rotor is provided in the housing and has at least one radially extending beater element that orbits on rotation of the rotor in a predetermined sense about a horizontal axis. An impact member is provided in the housing generally above the axis and spaced radially from the orbit of the beater element, the inlet being upstream of this impact member relative to the rotational sense of the rotor. A crusher plate is pivotally mounted in the housing generally below and downstream of the impact member and may be pivotally displaced between an effective position spaced radially relatively close to the rotor and an ineffective position radially relatively far from the rotor. A grate is displaceable through a sidewall of the housing between a withdrawn position outside the housing and an operative position under and relatively closely spaced from the rotor at the outlet.

  • Patent number: 3979078
Abstract: An elongated bar body has two opposite side faces each provided with a longitudinally extending rib. The ribs are offset from the longitudinal midline of the respective side faces in opposite directions and due to this offsetting each of the side faces has a larger and a smaller face portion. The larger face portions of the side faces overlap one another partially in transverse direction.
