  • Patent number: 5138854
Abstract: A locking device for a door lock in a motor vehicle has a locking position which can be selected, even by remote actuation, by an outer security element and in which the influence of outer and inner lock handles and of inner security elements on this locking position is prevented as a result of an interruption of the force flux at disengageable couplings.

  • Patent number: 4941569
Abstract: The invention relates to a rectangular key case having a swing-out flat key, so that the key can be integrated into the case in a space-saving manner. The case contains a key receiving space formed as a two-legged receiving shaft which, viewed over its length, is essentially L-shaped and extends with its longer leg along the side edge and with its shorter leg along the front edge of the key case housing. The flat key, in its non-working position, is lowered with its shank part entering into the longer leg and with its grip part entering into the shorter leg located near the corner of the key case housing. The shank part of the flat key is pivoted outside the housing and around its corner with the flat key in a working position pointed in the opposite direction from its non-working position and whereupon the grip part of the key engages into a longitudinal area of the shorter leg more remote from the corner.

  • Patent number: 4773703
Abstract: In a vehicle seat having a seat cushion subdivided, for set depth adjustment, into individual upholstery elements in the transverse direction of the seat, the individual upholstery elements are connected together by a coupling mechanism. The coupling mechanism is designed so that each of the gaps appearing between the upholstery elements when the depth is adjusted has the same gap width, and the upholstery elements, after conclusion of the set depth adjustment, are fixed in their particular adjusted position.

  • Patent number: 4454390
Abstract: A switching device for controlling servo drive mechanisms of vehicle seats, especially the seatback and/or seat cushion of automobiles. For each seat part to be adjusted there is provided a separate switching lever with a configuration arrangement at least essentially symbolic of the seat part to be adjusted by the respective lever. The respective switching levers are movably arranged in directions analogous to the intended adjusting directions of the seat part to be adjusted.

  • Patent number: 4349722
Abstract: A lock for vehicle closures or flaps, especially doors, trunk lids and fuel tank caps or lids, wherein the cylinder of the lock includes a drain opening in the lower part thereof which communicates with the interior of the cylinder and through which moisture, especially water, can be drained from the interior of the lock. A drain line formed as a moisture absorbing wick provided with an electric heating element powered by the vehicle electric system is connected to the drain opening with the line being guided from the cylinder through an element, such as a door handle, containing the cylinder, to the interior of the closure. A water deflecting shield overlies the portion of the drain line within the closure. The drain line terminates in a vertically disposed drain section from which moisture drained from the cylinder can evaporate or drip off. The drain line may be operatively associated with a vacuum source on the vehicle to assist in drawing off moisture from the cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4292823
Abstract: A cylinder lock which includes plate tumblers in a lock cylinder and a locking channel arranged in a lock casing wherein, when the key is pulled out (locked position of the lock), spring-loaded plate tumblers engage with their locking ends into the locking channel up to an extension length determined by locking stops. The lock casing is provided with an escape channel diametrically opposed to the locking channel for enabling a free resetting motion of the plate tumblers with their counter ends during an insertion of the key. The plate tumblers have, in their key cutouts, tumbler edges arranged at levels corresponding with an associated key cutout depth and, with a key being inserted (free position of the lock), can be reset into the lock cylinder. Stops are provided for limiting the resetting motion of the individual plate tumblers in the escape channel at insertion depths and a varying arrangement of the blocking stops is made in dependence upon a height of the respective tumbler edge.

  • Patent number: 4280349
Abstract: A rotary cylinder lock with a lock cylinder rotatable in a casing, preferably a door handle housing of a motor vehicle, with the lock cylinder being pivotable into closed and open positions by at least one key associated therewith and insertable in the lock cylinder. The rotary cylinder lock is constructed such that a second key can be inserted into the lock cylinder with the second key having, at a location other than in cases of the main key, notches or projections or the like controlling additional locking members. The second key actuates, by pivoting, a switching unit which, if necessary, triggers a safety device so as to prevent unauthorized use of the motor vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4248480
Abstract: A locking rail supported on a fixed vehicle part for a lever pivotally connected to a seat frame of a longitudinally and vertically adjustable automobile seat. The lever receives one end of a safety belt system with a lower free end of the lever lockingly engaging the locking rail when a predetermined tensile stress on the belt strap is exceeded. The locking rail is rigidly attached to parts fixed to the vehicle such as, for example, the seat underframe and the vehicle floor. The lever is connected to the seat frame by way of a fishplate which is mounted on both sides in an articulated fashion.

  • Patent number: 4237709
Abstract: A locking mechanism for lids, hoods, flaps and/or doors, especially in motor vehicles, which cooperates with a cylinder lock whose lock cylinder is provided with a lock part adapted to be pressed-in against the force of a spring. The lock part includes, at its cylindrical outer surface, a pressure pin which is swung by rotation from an operating position to a non-operating position. In addition to the pressure pin, a lug is arranged at the outer surface of the lock part adapted to be pressed-in. The lug is operatively connected with an additional locking mechanism in such a manner that the additional locking mechanism becomes operable only over a limited rotary range of the lock cylinder adjoining the inoperable position of the pressure pin--as viewed in the locking direction.

  • Patent number: 4231244
Abstract: A cylinder lock, especially for motor vehicles, consisting of a rotor with tumblers, which is operatively connected with locking elements; with a key pulled off in the locking position, the tumblers engage in a tumbler channel provided in the inner wall of a stator receiving the rotor; a cut-in or groove constructed as intentional breaking or rupturing place is provided in the rotor adjoining the last tumbler, as viewed in the key insertion direction, which ruptures when a springily engaging locking action between the rotor and the stator not accessible from the outside has taken place during a forcible pulling out of the rotor.

  • Patent number: 4219227
Abstract: A latchable door lock for motor vehicles, whose catch element, in addition to be blocked by a locking pawl to be actuated manually, is to be blocked by a further latching element, whose blocking action can be lifted only by means of a fitting key; the further latching element thereby engages directly at the catch element without reaction on the locking pawl while the key-controlled commands are transmitted by way of lines to servo devices coordinated to the remaining doors and/or flaps and displacing the additional latching elements.
