  • Patent number: 7160139
Abstract: A contact assembly (11) for providing electricity to an electroluminescent display (12) that is mounted on an outer face of a carrier plate (10). The contact assembly includes contact pads (16) on the outer face of the carrier plate and a first connector (13) that has an insulative body (21) and a pair of contact elements (28) with outer ends (32, 31) that each engages one of the conductive pads (16). The outer end of each contact element and the contact pads, are surrounded by an outer body portion to safeguard against a person touching the contact element outer end.

  • Patent number: 6948838
Abstract: A vehicle side-flashing lamp includes: a cup-shaped housing; a light exit opening opposite the housing bottom; and a light exit cover which covers the light exit opening. At least one light-emitting diode emits light outwardly at least partially at an angle which is large with respect to the main axis of the housing. A prismatic element, defined by first, second and third boundary surfaces, is arranged in front of the light-emitting diode in such a way that an emitted light beam passes through the first boundary surface into the prismatic element and is at least partially reflected at the second boundary surface, which is inclined with respect to the central axis of the light beam, in such a way that the reflected part issues from the prismatic element through the third boundary surface.

  • Patent number: 6271750
Abstract: A side flashing lamp for fitting into a cover cap of a motor vehicle external rear view mirror includes a lamp housing with a light exit opening and a translucent cover which closes the opening. The translucent cover is curved in such a way that it extends from the outward side, that is remote from the vehicle, in a continuous transition into the front side of the cover cap, which faces approximately in the direction of forward travel of the vehicle. The lamp has at least one light source in the lamp housing and at least one reflector for focusing the light of the light source in a main radiation direction which faces substantially in the direction of forward travel of the vehicle. The lamp includes at least one further light source with a reflector which focuses the light thereof transversely with respect to the main radiation direction.
