  • Patent number: 6231348
Abstract: Multiple contacts are provided in an electrical contacting arrangement of a sensor element, and the sensor element has a connection-side section with contact points, or contact pads, which are each integrally bonded to a corresponding contact. Each of the multiple contacts, at least on the section in contact with the contact point on the sensor element, has a layer by which the integral bond is formed between the contact and the contact point on the sensor element. The contacts are joined to the corresponding contact points on the sensor element by diffusion soldering or diffusion welding. Each contact has a curved intermediate section which compensates for thermal and/or mechanical expansion and movements.

  • Patent number: 5825502
Abstract: A mobile device for close-up -photography or -video-recording is so designed that it is easily useable for the investigation of surface details of an object which is particularly large and soft, for example human skin. When placed in contact with the surface of the object, then without further adjustments a sharp and greatly enlarged image is obtained. The device includes a distance-enforcing structure between the optical system and the object which in the object-side focal area ends with a vaulted surface. The vaulted surface is mechanically stiff and is shaped to compensate the image-plane curvature of the optical system by establishing a corresponding object-plane curvature. This compensation enhances the sharpness of the image obtained for an object surface which is pressed against the vaulted surface and thus is positioned in the true object-side focal area of the optical system.

  • Patent number: 5423493
Abstract: A method of handling the tube and cop supporting pallets in a textile winder during batch changing operations, by which, at the end of a batch, the pallets are maintained in the transport system of the winder and are conveyed from the tube return path to the cop supply path. First, the winding operation is stopped, a selected winding station at one end of the distribution segment is evacuated to facilitate clearing therethrough of the distribution segment and, subsequently, the other winding stations are successively evacuated to release the pallets held in their respective unwinding and backup positions. Downstream along the tube return path, the cops or tubes are removed from all approaching pallets, regardless of whether they still carry any yarn.

  • Patent number: 4572146
Abstract: A device for injecting fuel in combustion chambers, especially for self-igniting internal combustion engines, is proposed, in which a fuel injection nozzle, by aspirating air through an air guide device in the manner of a jet pump, generates a fuel spray that is surrounded by an air envelope. This air-enveloped fuel spray is directed through a heating element, the heat generation of which is distributed in such a manner over its length that a desired heating profile along the heating element is produced. The type of heating profile depends not only on the properties of the material making up the heating resistor but also on its structural makeup and its electrical bonding. A highly suitable material for the heating resistor is molybdenum silicide (MoSi.sub.2).

Other features relate to the disposition of the motor in a plastic frame, a flat commutator and carbon brushes held by leaf springs, and double insulation around the shaft to shield it from its rotor. More efficient, economical coffee mills with greater electrical safety are thereby provided.

  • Patent number: 3999032
Abstract: A beam generating tube in a welder has an anode connected to ground potential and a cathode-Wehnelt electrode circuit connected across a portion of a voltage divider which is connected to a high voltage source. The voltage drop across the portion of the voltage divider is varied by means of a control tube connected in parallel with that portion, the voltage at the control electrode of the control tube being varied as a function of the difference between the actual beam current and the desired beam current as set externally. A diode is connected from the cathode of the beam generating tube to the voltage divider tap so that the voltage drop across the control tube is limited when the welder is not in operation and no current flows from the voltage divider tap to the control tube when the welder is in operation. When the difference between the actual beam current and the desired beam current exceeds a predetermined difference, the energization of the beam generating tube is interrupted.

  • Patent number: 3993941
Abstract: An arrangement for generating and causing a pressing member to exert a pressing force includes an electric drive motor and a parallelogram transmission connected to the pressing member for transmitting pressing force thereto. The parallelogram transmission is coupled to and driven by the electric drive motor through a displacing member having the form of a screw spindle. An adjustable-setting switching device terminates operation of the motor when the output torque of the motor reaches a value corresponding to the setting of the switching device. The parallelogram transmission has a transmission ratio which in an undesirable manner is a function of the extent of displacement of the parallelogram transmission. Compensation of the functional dependence of the transmission ratio upon the extent of displacement of the parallelogram transmission is effected by automatically adjusting the displacement of the switching device in dependence upon the extent of the displacement of the parallelogram transmission.
