  • Publication number: 20080314160
Abstract: A vortex flowmeter is disclosed, which includes, among other features, a closed measuring tube, through which a flowable medium that is to be quantitatively measured flows, the medium flowing against a disturbing element that is arranged in the measuring tube. A vibration sensor is arranged downstream in the direction of flow detecting the vortex frequency generated by the disturbing element. An electronic evaluation unit is disposed downstream of the vibration sensor converting it into an electric signal corresponding to the quantitative flow rate or volumetric flow rate. The relative position can be changed between the measuring tube and the disturbing element and/or the measuring tube and the vibration sensor in a signal-optimizing manner.

  • Publication number: 20080167745
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for diagnosing technical devices, especially pumps and valves, which are arranged within an installation used in the processing industry. According to said method, disturbance variables that affect the devices and influence the service life thereof are detected by means of sensory technology while the data of said disturbance variables is processed in a simulative manner in order to determine the expected service life of each device. Various maintenance instructions which are output along with the expected remaining trouble-free operating time of the industrial installation when a lower service life threshold value of one or several devices has been reached are stored in an expert unit.

  • Publication number: 20080027660
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for operating a measuring device, especially a flowmeter, according to the preamble of claim 1. The aim of the invention is to simplify inspection if the sensors have been correctly installed. For this purpose, the installation state is detected by the sensors themselves, i.e. by sensing a corresponding sensor value and comparing it with characteristic data. The result of comparison is electronically evaluated and automatically estimated whether the characteristic data obtained match the comparative data within at least a defined tolerance.

  • Patent number: 7284437
Abstract: The invention relates to a device and a method for the status monitoring of a pressure measuring unit in an absolute or differential or relative pressure transducer, a pressure-sensitive element installed in the pressure measuring unit being impinged with at least one pressure generated by at least one membrane. During a defined diagnosis time interval, a testing element integrated in the pressure measuring unit is induced to undergo a change in volume, preferably by electrical activation. The pressure difference caused as a result in the pressure measuring unit is registered by a pressure-sensitive element. The curve registered during a diagnosis time interval is compared with a reference curve recorded with the pressure measuring unit intact. A fault indication is given if the deviations between the registered curve and the reference curve exceed predetermined tolerance values.

  • Publication number: 20070053131
Abstract: A method for operating a device in which typically a very high current is generated when the device is turned on compared to the rated current, e.g. an analogue operated PTC heating device for a mobile device, such as a vehicle, is disclosed. In this method, the power on the device is increased in a defined limited manner or in a ramp-like manner in the connection phase to avoid a high current when the device is switched on.

  • Publication number: 20070054630
Abstract: An arrangement is described for supplying electrical power to a field device (10) with a housing (11) for monitoring a technical process in a process installation, without the use of wires, which field device (10) has a wire-free communication interface (5). The field device (10) has at least one field device face (11a) facing the process and at least one field device face (11b, c, d) facing away from the process, and is equipped with a thermoelectric transducer (14) which has a transducer face (14b) facing the process and a transducer face (14c) facing away from the process. The heat flow in the field device between the field device face (11a) facing the process and the field device face (11b, c, d) facing away from the process is converted into electrical energy by the thermoelectric transducer (14), and this conversion process may be bidirectional.

  • Patent number: 6457791
Abstract: A fastening arrangement, particularly for front panels of drawers, has a fastening element which can be fastened on a rail of a pull-out slide, and a holding part which can be connected with a front panel. The holding part is prefixed relative to the fastening element such that an adjustment of the holding part with respect to the fastening element can be made into a first horizontal or vertical direction. The holding part is held on the fastening element by the prefixing in an original or adjusted position and can also be locked in a desired position. In addition, the holding part is held relative to the fastening element to be prefixed and adjustable into a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. For the prefixing, the fastening arrangement has a snap-type device, a catch device and an eccentric device.
