  • Patent number: 10882336
Abstract: A method prints and dries a substrate where ink containing water and pigment is printed onto the substrate in an inkjet printing process. The substrate has an initial moisture content and absorbs at least water of the ink, causing the moisture content of the substrate to rise. Radiation selectively acting on the water molecules is applied in a first drying step and then radiation selectively acting on the pigment is applied in a second drying step in such a way that after completion of the two drying steps, the water of the applied ink has essentially completely evaporated and the substrate has essentially reattained its initial moisture content. In this manner optimum drying of substrates to which ink has been applied occurs.

  • Publication number: 20200256441
Abstract: A blade assembly is disclosed herein that avoids the issues associated with aligning mating parts formed on blades with the shell during assembly. The blade assembly disclosed herein eliminates the need for embossments or pierced slots on the shell, and the need for mating tabs on the blades. In one embodiment, the blade assembly includes a shell defining an inner surface, and a plurality of blades arranged around the inner surface of the shell. The plurality of blades each include at least one axially extending leg adapted to contact the inner surface of the shell, and the plurality of blades are attached to the shell via brazing.

  • Publication number: 20200001595
Abstract: A method for depositing wet printed sheets and forming a sheet stack in a delivery of a printing machine. An auxiliary stack which is separate from the sheet stack has sheet-shaped intermediate layers that are usable as moisture barriers in the sheet stack. A plurality of sheets are stacked on top of one another to form a first section of the sheet stack. Then an intermediate layer is moved from the auxiliary stack onto the section of the sheet stack. A plurality of sheets are stacked on top of one another and on the intermediate layer to form a further section. The intermediate layer is thus arranged in the sheet stack between the first section and the further section. The placement of the intermediate layers provides a way of reducing or even eliminating quality losses in sheets and/or sheet stacks caused by moisture and moisture exchange.

  • Patent number: 10427528
Abstract: A vehicle may include an internal combustion engine configured to drive a plurality of wheels of the vehicle via a drive train. A waste heat utilization device may drive an electric generator by converting the waste heat generated by the internal combustion engine. The generator may be electrically connected to an on-board electrical system comprising an electric energy store and at least one electric consumer. An electric motor may be coupled to the drive train to provide an additional drive. The generator may convert kinetic energy generated by the waste heat utilization device into electrical energy and to provide the electrical energy to the on-board electrical system and/or to the electric motor. The electric motor may convert electrical energy provided by the electric energy store of the on-board electrical system and/or by the generator into kinetic energy and may couple the same into the drive train.

  • Patent number: 10226955
Abstract: A method for setting up and carrying out a print job on an inkjet printing machine having print heads and a thermal dryer includes printing onto a substrate using water-based black and chromatic inks. First test prints of a first test chart with different area coverage test patches are generated on the substrate using black ink, thermally drying the first test prints at different temperatures and evaluating dried first test prints to determine a dryer operating temperature during the print job. A second test print of a second test chart with different ink amount test patches is generated on the substrate using chromatic inks, thermally drying the second test print at the temperature, and evaluating the dried second test print to determine a total ink amount for operating the print heads during the print job. The machine receives temperature and total ink amount and prints the print job.
