  • Patent number: 5820365
Abstract: A channel burner for heating up flowing gas, accommodated inside the channel (1) that conveys the gas and provided with an airbox (2) and a combustion space (3) separated by a burner floor (5). The airbox communicates with an air intake (6) and the burner floor is provided with air-outlet openings in the form of slots (15) in the vicinity of the wall (4) of the combustion space. A gas-supply pipe (7) extends through the airbox and communicates with one or more gas nozzles (12) with bores (13) that open into the combustion space. The outlet cross-section of the slots is beside the bores. The outlet cross-section of the slots is remote from and downstream of the bores in terms of the flowing gas. The slot extends toward the wall of the combustion space. The ratio of the width s of the slot to the width 1 of the combustion space ranges from 0.01:1 to 0.1:1 at the level of the outlet cross-section of the slots.

  • Patent number: 5368230
Abstract: An atomizer for an oil burner. One line supplies liquid fuel and another line supplies atomization fluid to a mixing chamber. The mixing chamber is accommodated in a nozzle and provided with outlet bores. A bore that communicates with the atomization-fluid supply line slopes through the nozzle and into each outlet bore.

  • Patent number: 4979894
Abstract: A burner for burning gaseous and/or liquid fuels in a combustion space (5), through the face (3) of which an oil lance (12) and/or several gas lances (13 and 14) extend. The oil lance and at least some of the gas lances are surrounded by an air pipe (4) that supplies primary air with its outer surface demarcating a flue-gas recirculation channel that opens toward the combustion space and surrounded by a source of secondary air. The air pipe and the source of secondary air extend into the combustion space. The air pipe is surrounded inside the combustion space by a baffle (20) that is axially separated from the face of the combustion space. Some of the gas lances surround the air pipe and are mounted on a sector with a diameter that is shorter than the longest diameter of the baffle.

  • Patent number: 4862835
Abstract: A flame-tube boiler is provided with a system of burners for the low-NO.sub.x combustion of heavy oil, with an air box (8) that communicates with the cooled flame tube (1) by way of a central primary-air channel (16) that surround an oil-burner lance (17) and by way of secondary-air feeds (18) that surround the primary-air channel. The flue-gas line (19) communicates with the flue-gas outlet (7) and accommodates a precipitator (20), which has a solids outlet that communicates with a ring of nozzle pipes (24) inside the burner and opening into the flame tube.

  • Patent number: 4575332
Abstract: To allow liquid and/or gaseous fuels to be burned with decreased NO.sub.x formation, the combustion air is fed in at axial intervals one after the other. The percentage of primary air is higher than that of secondary air. The injector effect of the primary air draws flue gas out of the firebox and supplies it to a flame-initiation point between the primary-air and secondary-air feeds.

  • Patent number: 4265613
Abstract: A safety device for an oil burner includes a pump which has a drive cylinder portion with a double-acting piston movable therein which is connected through a connecting rod to a suction piston portion which is movable in a suction portion of the pump cylinder. The oil burner is supplied with fuel oil from a supply line having a shutoff valve or valves which are connected through a suction line to the suction part of the piston. The suction portion is connected through a check valve to a return line and the drive cylinder is connected on respective opposite sides of the piston through valve means for regulating the movement of the drive piston so that it moves after the burner is turned off to displace the suction piston to effect a suction on the supply line to the oil lance of the burner so as to withdraw the oil therefrom.
