  • Patent number: 7150679
Abstract: A pulley (1) that is decoupled from the vibrations of a crankshaft and that has an integrated viscous torsional vibration damper (2), including a flywheel (3), which is arranged in a damper housing (5) that is filled with a viscous medium (4) and which can rotate relative to the housing, as well as a bearing (6) and a coupling (7) made of rubber elastic material, for supporting the pulley (1) with respect to the damper housing (5) in a flexible manner in the circumferential direction of the pulley and so as to be capable of relative rotation, the pulley (1) being assigned to the flywheel (3) so as to be axially adjoining. The damper housing (5) has at least one first axial projection (8), which is enclosed by the belt-bearing surface (9) of the pulley (1) at a radial clearance, and the bearing (6) is arranged in the gap (10) that is formed by the clearance.

  • Patent number: 7124610
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a torsional vibration damper housing, especially the housing for a viscosity torsional vibration damper, whereby the damper housing is manufactured from an existing plate circular blank and the shaping of the damper housing occurs in an impact extrusion machine during a non-cutting impact extrusion shaping method. In successive impact extrusion shaping steps, all parts of the damper housing protruding from the plane of the plate circular blank, which forms the housing rear wall, are impact extruded while reducing the wall thickness of said parts to form a one-piece damper housing. Said damper housing is structured such that the area of the fastening flange has the largest thickness.

  • Patent number: 5236115
Abstract: For a torsional vibration damper, whose working chamber, formed by an inner shell (17), an outer shell (19), a rear wall (15) and a cover (13) is provided to receive a seismic ring and viscous damping liquid (1), the housing body (1) bearing the working chamber is made by a metal forming process in a spinning lathe, starting from a round steel blank (17), which is clamped between mandrel bodies within the spinning lathe, and is split into two blank sections (31, 33) which receive the contour of the cylindrical inner and outer shell (17, 19) defining the working chamber (5) of the damper by subsequent forming.

  • Patent number: 4103909
Abstract: A seal for a drive journal of a ball valve. The elements which directly carry out the sealing action are arranged below a thrust collar which is directed against the cover of the ball valve and is displaceable in the axial direction with the aid of set screws which extend through the cover. The sealing ring is a U-ring which abuts the thrust collar and the walls of the drive journal and the housing. The U-ring is provided with an annular slot which is open toward a thrust ring and, at its deepest portion, has a metallic compensating ring followed by a spiral ring. The present invention relates to a seal for a drive journal of a ball valve, according to which the elements which directly carry out the sealing action are arranged below a thrust collar which is directed against the cover of the ball valve and is displaceable in the axial direction with the aid of set screws which extend through the cover.
