  • Patent number: 12222163
Abstract: A cooler for cooling bulk material, such as cement clinker, for example, may include an aeration floor through which cooling gas can flow. The aeration floor may be configured to receive bulk material and to transport the bulk material in a conveying direction. The aeration floor comprises a plurality of conveying beams that are mounted so as to be movable in the conveying direction and counter to the conveying direction. A seal is mounted between two adjacent conveying beams, and the seal has at least two sealing elements mounted so as to be movable relative to one another. The sealing elements each have a sealing profile, which interact with one another such that a sealing gap is formed between them. The sealing gap has a double or multiple U-profile.

  • Patent number: 11549752
Abstract: A cooler for cooling bulk material such as cement clinker may include a stationary aeration grate that is for receiving the bulk material is passably by a flow of cooling gas, a conveyor unit having conveyor planks that are disposed above the aeration grate and that for transporting the bulk material are movable in a reciprocating manner in a conveying direction and counter to the conveying direction, a seal assembly that prevents grate riddlings and is attached to the stationary aeration grate, and a drive element that drives the conveyor planks and extends through the stationary aeration grate. The seal assembly may lie against the drive element, and spacing between the seal assembly and the drive element may be adjustable. Further, a method for preventing grate riddlings in a cooler may involve in the event of wear decreasing the spacing between the seal assembly and the drive element.

  • Patent number: 6717662
Abstract: An arrangement for determining the position of a light source includes a light-sensitive detector device and an arrangement for casting a shadow onto part of the light of the light source shining onto the detector device. The shadowing arrangement is formed by at least one rotationally symmetrical body.

  • Patent number: 6274862
Abstract: A device for determining the angle of incidence (&agr;) of incident radiation and particularly sunlight (S) includes an array of light sensitive elements (10, 11 and 12) and a shadow mask (15) arranged above the elements. The shadow mask (15) includes a transparent region (14) and a non-transparent region (13) with a linear boundary or edge (16) therebetween. The linear edge (16) is arranged above the center of the linear array (9) of light sensitive elements (10, 11 and 12) so as to extend at a right angle relative to the linear direction of the array. To determine the angle of incidence (&agr;), a coarse determination of the number of completely shaded light sensitive elements (10), and a fine determination of the fractional shading portion of the partially shaded light sensitive element (11) immediately adjacent to the completely shaded elements, are carried out.
