  • Patent number: 7530234
Abstract: A method for the air conditioning of a vehicle interior as a function of incident solar radiation. In a vehicle with, for example, a four-zone air conditioning system, the incident solar radiation is detected by means of sensor elements assigned to the various air conditioning zones in the vehicle and is used for regulating the air conditioning capacity. In order to avoid faulty regulation due to a detected incident solar radiation which does not influence or only slightly influences the passengers because of perpendicular incident radiation, for example, on the roof, the hood and the trunk lid, the incident radiation direction is determined by means of the sensor elements and the regulation of the air conditioning capacity is adapted correspondingly, so that the situation of too intensive cooling, for example in the case of perpendicular radiation on the vehicle roof, is avoided.

  • Patent number: 7461514
Abstract: A method for energy management of air-conditioning units in motor vehicles in which each of the air-conditioning units has a plurality of air-conditioning compressors prevents very heavy loading of an engine of a motor vehicle and prevents the engine from almost stalling when the air-conditioning compressors start up, as currently occurs during starting of the engine of the motor vehicle, after idling of the engine of the motor vehicle, and after an acceleration process in which the engine was in the full load mode. Each of the air-conditioning compressors is allocated a different priority, with the highest priority, for example, assigned to the air-conditioning compressor for a front vehicle region which is intended, inter alia, to prevent the front windscreen from misting up by removing moisture from the air. A lower priority can be assigned to the air-conditioning compressor for a rear vehicle region.

  • Publication number: 20060226246
Abstract: A method for regulation of the operation of a vehicle auxiliary heating/auxiliary ventilation by making use of the heating energy provided by the auxiliary heating. The front and the rear system are activated until a certain limit temperature of the front and rear water circuit for heating or air-conditioning the vehicle interior is reached, so that the interior can be heated more rapidly and uniformly, due to the entire water circuit being heated. After the limit temperature of the front and rear water circuit is reached, only the front water circuit continues to be heated, for example, in order to defrost the windshield and to heat the front interior. If the blow-in temperature in the front interior has reached a certain threshold value or an internal deviation of a regulator lies below a predetermined further limit value, only the rear water circuit is switched on again.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for energy management of air-conditioning units in motor vehicles, in particular air-conditioning units having a plurality of air-conditioning compressors. • Publication number: 20060137871
Abstract: The present invention discloses a climate control method, in which a distinction is drawn between climate control corresponding to a conventional method, and a modified climate control process. The modified climate control according to the invention is used when an occupant wishes to have less cooling, and thus raises the nominal internal temperature, after being cooled down to the physical limit, that is to say the minimum blowing-in temperature, before the vaporizer ices up, for example when the outside temperatures are very high. Since, in a situation such as this, the nominal blowing-in temperature both for the previous nominal internal area temperature and for the new, higher nominal internal area temperature is still well below the physically achievable limit, a second nominal blowing-in temperature is now calculated, in which the nominal internal area temperature change and the outside temperature are taken into account.

  • Publication number: 20060124290
Abstract: The present invention discloses an air conditioning method in which a distinction is made between air conditioning according to a conventional method and modified air conditioning. The modified air conditioning according to the invention is used when a passenger desires further cooling, for example in the case of very high outside temperatures, and therefore adjusts the desired interior temperature further downward when cooling is already taking place at the physical limit, that is the minimum blowing-in temperature, before the evaporator ices up.
