    Abstract: In general, devices, systems, and methods for assembly and operation of a handheld oscillating surgical saw are provided. In exemplary embodiments, a surgical tool includes a handpiece comprising a coupling head that includes a slot and a magnet, the slot being configured to releasably receive a surgical saw blade configured to cut bone, and the magnet being configured to magnetically attract the saw blade, wherein the coupling head is configured to move between a first position, in which the slot has a first height and the coupling head is configured to selectively receive the surgical saw blade therein and release the surgical saw blade therefrom, and a second position, in which the slot has a second height that is less than the first height and the coupling head is configured to fixedly seat the saw blade therein.
