  • Patent number: 5718477
Abstract: In a rail pair for motor vehicle seats, with a lower rail (7) that is to be connected to the vehicle and with an upper rail (2) that is to be connected with the seat and that, in a prestressed state, is supported via guide elements so that it can be shifted longitudinally in lower rail (7) and that is connected in a form-locking manner with lower rail (7) laterally with respect to the longitudinal direction of the rails, there is provided at least one bracing element (11) that is arranged on one of the two rails (2, 7) so that it can be moved only in the lateral direction with respect to the rails and that the other rail (7) can be pressed on with adjustable or preset force.

  • Patent number: 5564315
Abstract: A locking system for vehicular seats, in particular motor vehicle seats, is described and includes a rail (9), having a row of identically designed snap-in holes (11), which are separated by identically long, web-like material members (13), and a part having with a pair of bolts (1, 7), which can be moved relative to the rail. The bolts (1, 7) of the pair of bolts can be moved independently of each other at right angles to the longitudinal direction of the rail. In each position along the rail (9) at least one bolt (1, 7) can fall into a snap-in hole (11). One of the bolts (1) has a segment (3), which tapers away from the basic body (1') and includes an end which has a smaller cross section and which adjoins an end segment (5), that faces the rail. The largest width of the pair of bolts (1, 7) exceeds the length of the snap-in holes (11). The smallest distance between the bolts (1) and (7) is larger than the width of the web-like material parts (13).

  • Patent number: 5441315
Abstract: A power actuator used in combination with a motor-vehicle door latch movable between a locked and unlocked position has a housing, a reversible electric motor in the housing having a rotatable output shaft defining an axis, and an input gear on the shaft. A threaded output spindle spaced from the shaft in the housing carries an output gear out of mesh and out of engagement with the input gear. A nut is threaded on the spindle. An actuating element couples the nut with the latch to switch it between its positions. A support pivotal in the housing about the axis carries a pair of coupling gears in mesh with and flanking the input gear. The support is rockable about the axis from a central position in which neither of the coupling gears meshes with the output gear into a pair of end positions in each of which a respective one of the coupling gears meshes with the output gear and couples same to the input gear.

  • Patent number: 5379221
Abstract: A trigger procedure for a restraint system for protection of the occupants in a vehicle, where short-time spectral analyses of at least one acceleration component of the vehicle structure are continuously implemented and at least one parameter characteristic for the deformation of the vehicle structure (trigger parameter) is calculated from several spectral components. The calculated trigger parameters are compared with one or more preset threshold values to make a decision on triggering of the restraint system.

  • Patent number: 5056343
Abstract: A motor-vehicle latch has an actuating lever displaceable between a position in which a respective door of the vehicle is locked and a position in which the respective door is unlocked. A locking knob connected to the lever is accessible from inside the vehicle to displace the lever between its positions. The actuator has a housing mounted directly on the door latch and formed with at least one longitudinally directed abutment face, a motor in the housing, a nut longitudinally displaceable in the housing by the motor between unlocked, locked, and antitheft positions, and a slide in the housing movable by the nut between locked and unlocked positions and formed with a recess receiving a portion projecting from the lever. At least one flexible arm extends longitudinally from the slide and has a head formed with a face directed longitudinally opposite the abutment face of the housing.

  • Patent number: 4941694
Abstract: A power actuator used with a door latch has a housing fixed adjacent the latch and a slide linked to the latch and displaceable along an axis in the housing between locked and unlocked positions respectively corresponding to the locked and unlocked conditions of the latch. This slide is formed with a radially elastically deflectable entrainment formation and with a crosspiece. An axial spindle carries a nut engageable with the entrainment formation and the crosspiece of the slide. A radially elastically deflectable locking dog axially fixed to the slide is also engageable with the nut and the housing is formed with a radially inwardly open recess in which the dog is engageable only in the locked position of the slide. An electric motor can rotate the spindle and thereby displace the nut from an antitheft end position through an intermediate position and into an end locked position.

  • Patent number: 4932690
Abstract: A standard power-type motor-vehicle latch assembly comprises a door latch having an actuating lever displaceable between a position in which a respective door of the vehicle is locked and a position in which the respective door is unlocked, a locking knob connected to the lever and accessible from inside the vehicle to displace the lever between its positions, a power actuator having a housing, a motor in the housing, and an actuating element movable by the motor between a pair of positions, and a linkage interconnecting the element with the lever for operation of the latter by the former. The actuator housing is mounted directly on the door latch and the level is integrally formed with an actuating arm having an end projecting from the latch into the actuator housing and forming part of the linkage. The element is formed with a seat receiving the arm end and also forming part of the linkage.

  • Patent number: 4821521
Abstract: The positioning drive for a motor vehicle door closing device, particularly for a motor vehicle central locking mechanism, comprises an electric motor, a transmission, a gear/spindle unit and a positioning element all mounted in a housing. The positioning element is extendible and retractable by alternating action with the spindle. So that the positioning element can be moved back to its initial position without operation of the motor or application of a external manual force a spring extensible by a rotary motion is mounted in the transmission. It is attached with one end on a rotatable transmission component and braced or supported with the other end on the housing. This spring is extensible by the electric motor with the extension or retraction of the positioning element. The positioning element is returnable to its initial position by operation of the spring after the electric motor is shut off.
