  • Patent number: 5967106
Abstract: A circuit arrangement for starting an internal combustion engine by means of a sliding-gear starter (10) is proposed, by means of which the starting process is interrupted after a predetermined first time period in case of a meshing blockage and is repeated at the end of a further predetermined time period. The circuit arrangement is provided with a voltage detector for detecting a meshing blockage (blind switching of the starter), which senses the voltage drop at the storage battery (15) caused by the activation current of the starter motor when meshing. In the case of a missing voltage drop, the starter (10) is switched off via a switching element (20) of the start repeat device (18), and after a further time period of a timer circuit of the start repeat device (18) it is switched on again (FIG. 1).

  • Patent number: 5614050
Abstract: Process for producing a flexible, planar carrier coated with a porous adhesive layer, characterized in thata) a flowable adhesive composition is applied to an intermediate carrier having the following properties:it has a microscopically undulating, pleated, fissured or furrowed surfacethe adhesive composition can be easily detached from the surface thereofit is essentially air-impermeable,b) the microscopic air or solvent inclusions resulting, after coating the intermediate carrier, between the adhesive composition and the intermediate carrier are expanded by increasing the temperature until the surface of the adhesive composition bursts, andc) the adhesive composition is subsequently transferred from the intermediate carrier onto the final carrier.

  • Patent number: 4333449
Abstract: In an adhesive bandage comprising a support and an adhesive layer on the front thereof, the improvement which comprises a thermosetting, water-impermeable lacquer layer on the back of the support, the lacquer layer being less elastic in at least one direction than the support, whereby movement of the body, once the strip has been applied to the skin, will cause cracking of the lacquer layer.

  • Patent number: 4210855
Abstract: A difference amplifier compares the sum of a signal corresponding to the voltage across the battery and a signal corresponding to the current through the battery to a reference signal. When the output of the difference amplifier indicates that the sum of the two signals is less than the reference signal, a limiter circuit responds to limit the current drawn from the battery by controlling a current regulator interconnected between the battery and its load. If desired, a temperature signal indicative of the battery of temperature can also be applied to the difference amplifier so that the point at which the regulation sets in varies as a function of temperature.

  • Patent number: 3967028
Abstract: A web of polymeric foam which is sealed on one or both sides by a thin, hard plastic layer is disclosed. The sealed web is prepared by coating an auxiliary substrate with a film of hard plastic-forming resin, laminating this film to a polymeric foam web by means of a curable adhesive applied to the hard plastic, and removing the auxiliary substrate.
