  • Publication number: 20190386591
Abstract: A method for determining the position of the rotor of a multiphase electric machine with pole windings, the inductances of which are uniquely connected to the rotational angular position of the rotor in the currentless state at least within rotational angular periods. At least one measurement point between pole windings, a measurement signal which depends on the current inductances of the pole windings and which is generated by voltage jumps at a phase conductor input is tapped. Multiple measurement points are provided for tapping a signal, the measurement points being arranged collectively at one and the same phase conductor. For each measurement point, the respective phase conductor with the lowest current operating current is selected.

  • Patent number: 10161735
Abstract: An apparatus for determining the position of the rotor of an electric machine in relation to the stator. The machine has multiple phases, each of which includes at least one pole winding with a magnetizable core. The apparatus includes devices for detecting measurement signals that are characterized by the momentary degrees of magnetization of the pole winding cores. The degrees of magnetization are influenced by the angular position of the magnetic field of the rotor. The devices are also used to detect the currents in the phases and determine the angular position of the rotor from the detected measurement signals, taking into account a contribution of the phase currents to the degrees of magnetization of the pole winding cores.

  • Patent number: 9257924
Abstract: A method for determining the rotary position of the rotor of an electric machine, which includes star-connected phase conductors, wherein a measurement signal representing the rotary position of the rotor within a magnetic half-period is determined from the potential at the star point. At a measurement time a specified voltage is applied to the ends of all the phase conductors by forcing the star point to a specific potential. At a time following the measurement time a voltage that deviates from the specified voltage is applied to the ends of one of the phase conductors. Then the measurement signal is derived from the current that develops from the measurement time in a connection of the star point to the specified potential.
