  • Patent number: 9339092
Abstract: An inflatable umbrella has an inflatable covering made from a flexible material. In an inflated state, said covering forms at least the following elements: a central holding element, at least three umbrella strut elements extending away from the central holding element, and at least one umbrella surface element stretched out by the umbrella strut elements. In this case, the central holding element and each umbrella strut element are supported against each other at the respective contact point thereof. In the inflated state, the umbrella has greater stability and resistance to external forces in comparison to previously known inflatable umbrellas.

  • Publication number: 20160000194
Abstract: A method for producing an inflatable umbrella with a number of struts n, in which n films are positioned on top of one another in at least some regions; two films form cover layers and the other films are folded as intermediate layers and arranged between the cover layers; the films are connected along a first contour, with each pair of adjacent films being connected to each other; and the umbrella is separated from the films in at least some regions along a second contour. The invention also relates to an inflatable umbrella.

  • Publication number: 20120103378
Abstract: A self-inflating screening shield, in particular umbrella, has an inflatable envelope (11) made of a flexible material. The interior of the envelope (11) is evacuated prior to use, and by means of a chemical reaction a gaseous substance can be produced therein with which the interior of the envelope (11) is inflated. The chemical reaction may consist in dissolving a sodium (bi)carbonate granulate in citric acid. The citric acid may be accommodated in a container which is made to rupture by pressure being applied externally to the envelope (11) by a user, for example at a predetermined breaking point, or by being torn at a predetermined tearing point, thus triggering the chemical reaction. A self-inflating balloon can also be produced in this way.

  • Publication number: 20110041883
Abstract: A reusable, self-inflating umbrella comprising an inflatable envelope (11) made of a flexible material and an inflation mechanism (12). The interior of the envelope (11) can be connected to the inflation mechanism (12), in which a gaseous substance with which the interior of the envelope (11) is inflated can be generated by a chemical reaction. The chemical reaction may consist in dissolving a sodium (bi)carbonate granulate in citric acid. The citric acid may be accommodated in a container which is made to rupture by pressure being applied externally to the inflation mechanism (12) by a user, thus triggering the chemical reaction.
