  • Publication number: 20050242521
Abstract: A radial shaft sealing ring with a backing ring and a sealing element made of an elastomeric material vulcanized onto it. The sealing element has a lip seal which, for the uninstalled sealing ring, protrudes from the backing ring in radial direction. When the ring is installed in the opening of a housing in a prestressed condition, the lip seal surrounds the shaft with its curved sealing surface. The lip seal consists of an elastomer and its sealing surface consists of a sealing bulge disposed at the end of the lip seal. The lip seal surrounds the shaft and a surface segment attached thereto retains or returns leaking liquid. The terminal surface of the lip seal, when the sealing element is installed, is oriented toward the internal space of a housing that is to be sealed.

  • Patent number: 5642889
Abstract: A sealing ring inserted into the radial space between two relatively movable cylindrical surfaces of a first and a second machine part. The cylindrical surfaces surround one another coaxially, and the sealing ring includes a first device for statically stationary fixing and sealing of the first machine part, as well as a second device for movable sealing of the second machine part. The first device is formed by a retaining ring made of a polymeric material pierced by at least one relief groove and engaging the first machine part, as well as an annular lip seal situated in front of the relief groove which is acted upon by the pressure of the medium to be sealed. The lip seal elastically deforms above a preselected minimum pressure differential and disengages from the first machine part.

  • Patent number: 5485473
Abstract: The present invention provides for improved testing of an integrated circuit. In order to measure a test signal S from the integrated circuit 1 a multi-pattern is placed in a shift register. The multi-pattern is generated by overlaying at least two test patterns Ax and Bx. Therefore the signal S changes its state in response to only a small amount of shift operations.
