  • Patent number: 6667449
Abstract: A switch hinge is described having a first hinge wing, which accommodates a switch operable by a lever, having a second hinge wing and having a shaft which, in the operative position, is non-rotatably connected with the second hinge wing. The shaft, on its circumference, has a switch groove which extends in the direction of the shaft axis and into which an operating pin connected with the lever dips in a predetermined swivelling position between the two hinge wings. In a preassembled condition, in which the operating pin rests in the switch groove, the shaft is secured by a lock against rotation with respect to the first hinge wing, and the second hinge wing is freely swivellably with respect to the shaft. A screw screwed into the face-side end of the first hinge wing axially displaces the shaft by a predetermined extent out of the preassembled position into the operative position.

  • Patent number: 6236006
Abstract: A switch device, includes a casing having an inlet opening for introduction of a conductive cable, having at least two conductors and an insulating sheath. The casing has an open end which is closeable by a lid. Received in the interior of the casing are contact members having terminals which point in the direction of the lid, for penetration through the insulating sheath of the cable and contacting the conductors. A pressure pad is secured interiorly on the lid in an area of contact-making between the contact members and the conductors, for exerting a pressure onto the cable, whereby the pressure pad so projects into the interior of the casing as to firmly press the cable onto the contact members via the connected terminals, when the lid is closed.

  • Patent number: 5964342
Abstract: A safety switch including a spring-loaded tappet axially displaceably disposed in a switch cover; a switching bridge on the tappet; and an actuator above the tappet. An essentially U-shaped element has a center web and a first and second leg. The element is swivellably disposed in the cover in the area of the center web and the first leg of the element engages the tappet. The second leg is situated above the tappet such that when the actuator has moved in, the second leg reaches behind and engages the actuator in a switch-on position and permits a complete pulling-out of the actuator from the cover only in a switch-off position.

  • Patent number: 5744767
Abstract: A radius actuator for operating a safety switch, includes a holder and a spring-biased operating key which is secured in the holder by a carrier member and moveable between a slanted initiation position and a switch-actuating position, with the operating key being tiltable relative to the carrier member about a first pivot axis and lockable in place. A base plate is attached to the key-distant end of the carrier member such that the carrier member is tiltable about a second pivot axis and lockable in place, whereby the second pivot axis is in offset disposition to the first pivot axis by 90.degree., thereby allowing a slanted positioning of the operating key over a wide range. The base plate is displaceable within the holder in direction of the longitudinal axis of the carrier member and tiltable relative thereto in opposition to the force exerted on the base plate by a spring which is received in the holder.

  • Patent number: 5662212
Abstract: A radius actuator for a safety switch includes a mounting, a spring-loaded operating key secured in the mounting and moveable between a slanted initiation position and a switch-actuating position. The operating key has a head assembly which is spring-mounted in a slider that is received in a recess of a locking wheel for to and fro movement. The locking wheel is rotatably supported in a mounting and has a cam so that a turning of the locking wheel causes the cam to move the slider in a direction of movement. The head assembly is supported outside the slide for tilting about a pivot axis in order to effect a slanted position of the operating key relative to the safety switch when turning the locking wheel.

  • Patent number: 5593021
Abstract: An electrical switch of a type having a detector probe with a sensor and a mounting, includes a housing having a bottom and a top which are detachably connected together solely by complementary locking elements. The mounting of the detector probe is rotatably supported in the top via a trunnion and secured by a fixture. Snapped onto the top is a cover which secures, partly via the fixture, the locking elements in their locking position and also secures the fixture in place, to thereby attain an assembly of the components of the switch without resorting to the use of screw fasteners.

  • Patent number: 5516993
Abstract: A safety switch includes a housing having at least one opening and supporting a spring-biased tappet which is movable between two end positions by a switching mechanism including a switch wheel received in the housing. The switch wheel includes at each side a pair of separate but operatively interconnected resiliently mounted locking members. Each locking member carries a locking pin which is engageable in a bore of the surrounding housing. An actuator is insertable through the opening to act on ramp surfaces of the locking member, with the ramp surfaces being spaced from the grooves in the switch wheel. Thus, only a very particular actuator of complex configuration is suitable to effect the unlatching and subsequently the turning of the switch wheel for movement of the tappet from the initial position to a switching position.

  • Patent number: 5361925
Abstract: A terminal box includes a base and a cover detachably securable to the base. The cover is provided with a stepped bore in each corner area thereof, with a spring-loaded locking bolt being insertable therein and slideable in axial direction in opposition to the spring action for securing the cover to the base. Each locking bolt has one end provided with a blade-like expansion which is created through flattening this respective end of the locking bolt. In the area facing the base, the cover is provided with radial slots which are in alignment with radial slots of the base and suitably dimensioned to receive the blade of the locking bolts. When placing the cover upon the base, each locking bolt is pressed down through the bore and radial slots in the base and turned to allow the blade of each locking bolt to bear upon an abutment of the base for securement of the cover to the base.
