    Abstract: A method includes applying a production prediction algorithm to one or more parameters for a hydrocarbon well to generate a production decline curve for the hydrocarbon well. The production prediction algorithm has a start time and an end time, and the production decline curve comprises predicted production data. The method also includes comparing the predicted production data for a time period between the start time and the end time to historical production data for the hydrocarbon well from the time period; and determining a prediction accuracy metric for the hydrocarbon well based on the comparison.
