    Abstract: A utility tool, such a putty knife, includes an elongated handle for manual handling of the utility tool, a blade and a screw bit assembly. The screw bit assembly is rotatably mounted about the rear portion of the handle, has a screw bit, and is operable between a non-operating configuration where the screw bit is nested within the handle, and an operating configuration where the screw bit is drawn out of the handle and securely maintained in a fixed configuration so as to be positioned at a slanted angle with respect to the longitudinal axis of the handle. In addition to being able to carry out other various functions, in drywall applications and the like, the tool by virtue of its design and components enables a more ergonomic grip, and to have a greater lever effect for screwing fasteners with its screw bit assembly.

The base has opposite supporting and working surfaces, the working surface being shaped and sized for receiving the abrasive sponge. Each retaining mechanism is mountable onto the base, and is configured for removably securing a first portion of the abrasive sponge against the working surface of the base. Each engaging mechanism is mountable onto the base, and is configured for projecting out from the working surface so as to penetrate a second portion of the abrasive sponge when resting against the working surface of the base, each engaging mechanism being further configured so as to draw the second portion of the abrasive sponge away from the first portion.

    Abstract: A sponge sander configured for selective attachment to a dust-collection system includes a housing having a housing-interior surface defining a sponge cavity and a sponge seat configured for removably retaining a determinately-dimensioned sanding sponge. The sponge has an abrasive sanding surface, a back surface opposite the sanding surface and a sponge periphery defined between the sanding and back surfaces. The sponge is retained within the sponge cavity such that (i) the abrasive sanding surface can engage a work surface to be sanded, (ii) fluid-flow channels are maintained between the sanding sponge and the housing-interior surface and (iii) the spaces are in fluid communication with a fluid port defined in the housing so that when a negative pressure is applied across the fluid port by a vacuum system external to the housing, dust created by sanding is drawn into the fluid-flow channels and out of the housing through the fluid port.

    Abstract: A roller cap for removably mounting onto a distal end of an oversized roller cover adapts the oversized roller cover so that it can be used with a standard roller frame. The cap has a mounting portion mounted onto the distal end of the oversized roller cover and has a peripheral outer surface which frictionally engages with an inner bore of the oversized roller cover. A receiving portion is connected to the mounting portion and receives and frictionally secures the standard roller frame. The standard roller frame is passed through an aperture of the receiving portion, enabling the oversized roller cover to be used with the standard roller frame. A kit has at least one oversize roller cover, a standard roller frame and a cap. An inner tube can connect the receiving portions of caps, guiding the roller frame and producing a greater frictional fit.
