The vehicle latch having: an inertia lever rotationally mounted to the latch for movement about an axis between a first position and a second position; and a lock link operatively coupled to the inertia lever such that movement of the inertia lever from the first position to the second position causes the lock link to move from a first position to a second position, wherein the latch is in a locked state when the lock link is in the second position.
