Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of medicine. It more particularly relates to the use of compounds for preventing and/or treating dyslipidemia in a subject, said dyslipidemia typically being linked to the excess presence in the biological membranes, including in the biological membranes of non-adipocyte cells, of fatty acids, in particular of saturated long-chain fatty acids, and/or of sterols. The invention also relates to compositions, in particular pharmaceutical compositions and food supplements or complements, comprising such compounds, and to the uses thereof for preventing and/or treating dyslipidemia. The compounds and compositions according to the invention can in particular be advantageously used for preventing and/or treating a pathological condition selected from metabolic syndrome and/or a symptom or abnormality characteristic of metabolic syndrome, preferably for preventing or treating type 2 diabetes mellitus or hepatic steatosis.

Abstract: An apparatus, method, and system are provided for capturing one or more images using a portable panoramic imaging device during real-time image collection and communicatively coupling a mobile communication device to the portable panoramic imaging device to provide an interface to the portable panoramic imaging device for facilitating real-time feedback of the portable panoramic imaging device operation. Such analysis and feedback include sending, utilizing the mobile communication device, information based on the one or more captured images to a central service system for feedback analysis, and receiving, utilizing the mobile communication device, instructions from the central service system based on the analysis.

Abstract: A method, computer program product, and system are provided for position estimation in a geo-location system. For example, the method can include receiving a plurality of position measurements from a respective plurality of satellites in a global navigation satellite system. From the plurality of position measurements, a position measurement with a maximum pseudo-range residual value can be selected. A position uncertainty estimate can be determined based on the position measurement with the maximum pseudo-range residual value. Further, a position estimation algorithm can receive the position uncertainty estimate as an input, thereby improving position estimation of the geo-location system.

Abstract: An apparatus, method, and system are provided for portable imaging system input using a mobile device. The apparatus includes an imaging device, a mobile communication device, and a communication network interface. The imaging device is arranged to capture an image. The mobile communication device is arranged to provide an interface to the imaging device and to accept input from a user. The mobile communication device also includes a presentation device to convey information to the user and can send information to and receive information from the imaging device. The communication network interface is arranged to access a communication network and provide a link between the communication network and the imaging device.
