  • Patent number: 8066457
Abstract: The invention relates to a machine tool, particularly a machine reamer, comprising a shaft-type base and a replaceable cutter head which frontally protrudes from the base. An axially protruding extension of said cutter head engages into a frontal receptacle that is fixed to the base, the cutter head being removably clamped in said receptacle by means of a clamping screw which penetrates the replaceable cutter head in a truly axial direction. The screw head of the clamping screw rests against a face of the replaceable cutter head. The extension of the replaceable cutter head is provided with a polygonal part which is complementary to a truly axial polygonal hole that is fixed to the base and is penetrated by the polygonal part.

  • Patent number: 7431543
Abstract: A machine reamer has a base and a reamer head configured as a one-piece indexable insert that axially projects beyond the front of the base. The indexable insert can be introduced in a front insert seat of the base with an axially projecting, preferably conical shoulder and can be clamped therein by a tension rod that extends through the center-axis of the base. In order to improve the rotational catch effect between the base and the indexable insert, the indexable insert has a central polygonal opening through which the tension rod engages with a complementary polygonal section.

  • Publication number: 20050220551
Abstract: The invention relates to a machine reamer which comprises a shaft-like base (10) and a reamer head that axially projects beyond the front of the base and that is configured as a one-piece indexable insert (12). Said indexable insert can be introduced in a front insert seat (14) of the base (10) with an axially projecting, preferably conical shoulder (24) and can be clamped therein by means of a tension rod (44) that extends through the center-axis of the base (10). In order to improve the rotational catch effect between the base (10) and the idexable insert (12), the indexable insert (12) has a central polygonal opening (30) through which the tension rod engages with a complementary polygonal section (32).

  • Patent number: 6830502
Abstract: A reaming tool is capable of reaming out several axially interspaced borings of a workpiece. The reaming tool includes a guide shank that can be clamped into a machine spindle and which can be supported in prepared borings of the workpiece to be machined by using external supporting elements. The reaming tool also includes a reaming head coaxially connected on the front end thereof. In order to be able to easily change a worn tool, the reaming head is connected to the guide shank by an auto-centering clamping mechanism. The supporting elements positioned in the proximity of the clamping mechanism can, during a clamping process, be radially spread outwardly from a smaller dimension to a predetermined diameter guide dimension.
