Abstract: The display of any home entertainment or consumer electronic product such as a television set is used as a display screen (11) for displaying a graphical user interface (100). The display screen comprises a control unit (13) that receives signals from the remote control device (15) in order to control the graphical user interface (100). The control unit includes software and hardware for providing the user with the graphical user interface by which the user can access various content and services. The control unit (13) comprises at least a controller for controlling operation of the graphical user interface (100), a memory for storing program code in order to implement application feature software to be executed by the control unit, and an interface for receiving and/or transmitting wireless communication between the remote control device and the display screen (11).
