  • Patent number: 11934464
Abstract: Method for performing unsupervised clustering of a data set including a plurality of data points by means of minimization of a cost function by a classical digital computer. The classical digital computer locates each data point on a Bloch sphere and sends the position of the data point to a quantum computer. The quantum computer translates each position to a quantum state of a plurality of qubits and implements a quantum circuit on them. The quantum circuit modifies the quantum state of the qubits to a final quantum state based on a plurality of optimized variational parameters provided by an optimizer of the cost function performed in the classical digital computer, the final quantum state corresponding to the label in which each data point is clustered.

  • Publication number: 20240020568
Abstract: Method for solving a variational quantum optimization problem in a hybrid quantum-classical computing system that includes a classical digital computer and a quantum computer by minimizing a cost function. The cost function comprises N variables, and each of the variables can take up to p different values. The quantum computer includes as many qubits as variables in the cost function, each qubit having p maximally orthogonal states, and a quantum circuit configured for performing a plurality of operations on said qubits. Each qubit represents each of the variables of the cost function, and each maximally orthogonal state of a qubit represents each of the values that the corresponding variable can have.

  • Publication number: 20230401262
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for establishing clusters for a set of data points in a data set is described. The method comprises in a first step a building of a cost function for the data points in the form of a Hamiltonian, followed by creating from the cost function a tensor network comprising a plurality of tensors. The tensor network is subsequently passed to a processor for performing algebraic operations on the tensors in the tensor network using the processor to update iteratively the tensors in the tensor network. Finally, the method comprises outputting the updated tensors. The cluster into which the data points are clustered and be determined from the parameters of the updated tensors in the tensor network.

  • Publication number: 20230368062
Abstract: A computer-implemented method and system for identifying trends in a network of elements. The method comprises obtaining a plurality of properties for the elements in the network, creating a multi-dimensional configuration space from the measured plurality of properties and storing the multi-dimensional configuration space in data storage. A cost function which is representative of the trends in the network is then built and the cost function is passed to a quantum processor for solving to identify a minimum in the cost function. The identified minimum is processed extract in a central processing unit the trends from the identified minimum. The cost function has one or more components which are representative of interaction between different elements in the network.

  • Publication number: 20230205728
Abstract: Scalable computer architectural frameworks for quantum computers or for classical digital computers. According to one implementation, the framework includes a plurality of processing nodes, each processing node including at least three processing elements, and a plurality of couplings. The processing elements in a processing node (11) are connected in series forming a string comprising two end processing elements and at least one intermediate processing element. Each processing node is connected to each of the other processing nodes by means of only one external coupling. The intermediate processing elements are connected to processing elements of other processing nodes by the same number of external couplings, and the end processing elements are connected to processing elements of other processing nodes by the same number of external couplings or one more.

  • Publication number: 20230198634
Abstract: A distributed quantum computing system 10 and a method for implementing the distributed quantum computing system 10 is disclosed. The distributed quantum computing system 10 comprises at least two ground nodes 20a, 20b located apart at a distance. The ground nodes 20a, 20b comprise a quantum processor 30, a quantum channel unit 40a, 40b for establishing quantum channels 50 with other ones of the at least two ground nodes 20, a coupling unit 60a, 60b for transferring quantum information between the quantum processor 30 and the quantum channel unit 40. A satellite unit 110 creates entanglement between a first channel unit 40a in a first ground node 20a and a second channel unit 40b in a second ground node 20b to enable establishment of said quantum channels 50.

  • Publication number: 20220405132
Abstract: Disclosed are systems and computer implemented methods for providing quantum computing as a service. According to one embodiment the system includes a frontend computing system storing a frontend computer program, a backend computing system, and a quantum computer, the frontend computer program being a spreadsheet application configured to receive a service request from a user, the service request comprising service request parameters and input data. The frontend computing system sends the service request to the backend computing system, which is configured to encode it to a service job in a format suitable for the quantum computer to execute, and to submit the service job to the quantum computer. The quantum computer is configured to execute the service job and to provide service job results to the backend computing system, which translates them into results data and sends them to the frontend computing system.
