Abstract: A winding device for winding a thread onto a bobbin tube to form a bobbin includes a machine frame, a controller, and a support roller rotatably mounted in the machine frame to support the bobbin tube or the bobbin. A winding mandrel holds the bobbin tube and is pivotally held on a pivot lever that is rotatably mounted on a rotary axis in the machine frame. The pivot lever includes a first and a second lever arm, wherein the winding mandrel is provided on the first lever arm. A linear drive is provided on the second lever arm to move the pivot lever about the rotary axis, wherein the linear drive is connected to the second lever arm via a push rod and an axle bolt and is pivotally attached to the machine frame via a holder. A force measurement device is arranged between the axle bolt and the holder.
