  • Patent number: 5201266
Abstract: A baler machine including a charging chamber for receiving material to be baled. The charging chamber has a charging passage through which material is forced into a baling compression chamber by a compression ram to thereby form a bale in the compression chamber. An ejection ram is provided for forcing the compressed material out of the baling compression chamber through an exit passageway. A movable decompression wall functions as one wall of the baling compression chamber. Such wall is located opposite and spaced from the charging passage through which material is forced from the charging chamber. A power cylinder is provided to move the decompression wall in a horizontal direction to effectively increase the volume of the baling compression chamber which, at the same time, increases the size of the exit passageway to thereby permit ejection of an oversized bale from the compression chamber.

  • Patent number: 4315459
Abstract: A baling machine comprises a frame defining a first baling chamber having an open top and an opening formed in one end and a second baling chamber which communicates with the first baling chamber through the opening. A cover member is pivotally mounted on the frame and movable between an open position permitting access into the first baling chamber through the open top and a closed position covering the open top. A feed hopper is mounted on the frame for introducing material to be baled into the first baling chamber. A first compression ram is mounted adjacent to the first baling chamber and is movable into the first baling chamber for compressing the material in the first baling chamber and for thereby forming the material into a block having one end section which is aligned with the opening. A feed ram is mounted adjacent to the first baling chamber and is movable into the first baling chamber for moving the block end section into the second baling chamber through the opening.

  • Patent number: 4033249
Abstract: Baling apparatus including a baling chamber and a compression ram mounted for reciprocal movement therein and a bale strapping chamber positioned adjacent the baling chamber. The cycle is started by positioning a strapped bale in the strapping chamber between upper and lower platform members. Bale material such as newspapers and cardboard is introduced into the baling chamber and the compression ram is reciprocated to progressively form a bale against one end of the strapped bale in the strapping chamber. During such bale forming operation the newly formed bale is gradually pushed between the upper and lower platform members to thereby force the strapped bale out from between such platform members on to a take-away conveyor. A pair of pivotally mounted gate members are mounted on opposite sides of the baling chamber at the exit thereof. The take-away conveyor can be tilted to separate the adjacent ends of the unstrapped and strapped bales.

  • Patent number: 4018169
Abstract: A frame having a baling chamber formed therein and a feed hopper member pivotally mounted adjacent the chamber for introducing a car body or similar article partially into the baling chamber. A cover member is pivotally mounted adjacent the other side of the baling chamber and has a front edge constructed as a cutting edge. The cover member when pivoted to its open position permits the introduction of the car body into the baling chamber by tilting the feed hopper member. The cover member, when pivoted to its closed position after the car body is partially introduced into the baling chamber, will partially crush and bend the car at approximately the middle portion thereof so that substantially one-half of the car body will be inside the baling chamber and the other half will protrude out of the baling chamber through the space adjacent the front edge of the cover member.
