Patent number: 5946909Abstract: A series of floating turbine rotors each have a tubular hub with outwardly projecting blades, and the rotors are connected in general axial alignment by a flexible driven shaft. The shaft includes tubular floating connector shafts and flexible couplings, and each rotor is connected to drive the shaft through a one-way ratchet clutch. One or more lines of the connected floating rotors are anchored within moving water of a river or in the waves flowing into a seashore, and the rotors drive each flexible shaft which, in turn, drives an electric generator through a fly-wheel and a power converter or drives an air compressor for producing compressed air which is stored in underground tanks and later used to drive an electric generator through an air turbine.Type: GrantFiled: May 15, 1998Date of Patent: September 7, 1999Assignee: Swort International, Inc.Inventor: Roman Szpur

Patent number: 4290096Abstract: A rectangular reflector sheet of relatively stiff aluminum is curved into the general shape of an elongated parabola and is inserted into a cylindrical transparent glass tube so that the edge portions of the sheet press outwardly against the tube. A set of end closure caps or members are clamped against the ends of the tube by a set of tie bolts which extend axially between the reflector sheet and the inner surface of the tube or outboard of the tube. Each of the end closure members is provided with an annular groove which confines a resilient gasket material to form a fluid-tight seal between the tube and the closure member. One of the end closure members has an eccentrically located hollow hub portion which supports a socket for receiving the socket end of an elongated lamp element extending along the offset focal axis of the curved reflector sheet.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 1979Date of Patent: September 15, 1981Inventor: Roman Szpur
