  • Publication number: 20110236684
Abstract: A thermally resistant fiber glass includes at least SiO2, Al2O3, and TiO2.
    Type: Application
    Filed: July 29, 2008
    Publication date: September 29, 2011
    Applicant: S.D.R. BIOTEC VERFAHRENSTECHNIK GMBH

  • Publication number: 20100273375
Abstract: An aqueous sizing is provided for treating glass fibers, in particular for producing roving fibers, glass staple fibers and cut reinforcing fibers in a thermally and chemically resistant glass, and also to glass fibers coated with the sizing. The sizing protects the glass fibers against scuffing and thus from mechanical damage.

  • Publication number: 20090305864
Abstract: An aqueous sizing for treating R-glass, E-glass, and ECR-glass fibers. The sizing contains a multi-component film former, a lubricant, and an adhesive. The multi-component film former includes polyvinyl acetate, polyvinyl alcohol polyether, and polyamidoamide. An aqueous sizing for producing roving fibers includes polyvinylacetate ethylene copolymer, polyamidoamide, polyvinyl alcohol polyether mixture, polypropylene or polyethylene polytetrafluorethylene wax, a coupling agent, and water.

  • Publication number: 20090186222
Abstract: R-glass, E-glass, and/or ECR-glass fibers contain a sizing composition with at least one multicomponent film former, a lubricant, and a coupling agent.
    Type: Application
    Filed: July 11, 2007
    Publication date: July 23, 2009

  • Publication number: 20070289494
Abstract: A size described for finishing glass fibers comprises merely a film-former, an adhesion promoter and also an acid for the purpose of adjusting the pH and water. The film-former used is preferably polyvinylpyrrolidone and the adhesion promoter, a ?-aminopropyltriethoxysilane hydrolyzed to the silanol. Acetic acid is preferred for acidifying. The glass fibers sized with this sizing composition are notable in particular for corrosion resistance and bear an uninterrupted layer of the film-former. The stiffness of the filaments thus sized is satisfactory. The fibers are very efficiently processsible as a dispersion by the wet-laying process and do not tend to agglomerate. The erasing fibers sized according to the invention are particularly useful.
