  • Patent number: 5468442
Abstract: Apparatus and process for gauging and controlling extruded profiled elements, particularly extruded profiled elements made of synthetic material. The apparatus includes at least one control and correction gauge arrangeable downstream of an extrusion die along the extrusion direction and in which there is a passage shaped so as to match the profile of the extruded profiled element. The passage can be crossed by the extruded profiled element, and there are holes and/or channels for heating and cooling preset regions of the profiled element to correct the profile and/or the internal tensions of the profiled element.

  • Patent number: 5132062
Abstract: The extrusion head has a head body which accommodates a male element and defines, in co-operation with the male element, a passage for material to be extruded. The passage extends around the male element and leads outward through an extrusion hole which is located proximate to an end of the head. A cooling element is applied at the extrusion hole and a hole is defined therein for the passage of the extruded material. The latter hole has a configuration which corresponds to the profile of the extruded element to be obtained, in order to achieve the rapid cooling of the extruded element exiting from the extrusion hole.

  • Patent number: 5124096
Abstract: The extrusion head has a body which accommodates a male element and which defines, in co-operation with the male element, a passage for the material to be extruded. The passage extends around the male element and leads outward through an extrusion hole located proximate to an end of the head. The end of the male element which is orientated in the direction of flow of the material has at least one channel through which material is delivered inside the flow of material which flows out of the extrustion hole.

  • Patent number: 5102325
Abstract: The machine has a tube extrusion head, an entrainment device arranged downstream of the extrusion head along the extrusion direction, and a device for checking the outer diameter of the tube. The device for checking the outer diameter of the tube includes a pneumatic gauge which is interposed between the extrusion head and the entrainment device and is operatively connected to an electronic control unit which acts on the entrainment device to adjust the tube entrainment speed as a function of the outer diameter of the tube to be obtained.

  • Patent number: 5088914
Abstract: An extrusion machine includes a barrel or cylinder which houses an extrusion screw. The screw includes a feed section into which powder material is fed. The material is then fed into a mixing section, then through a transition section and then to another mixing section and finally to a section for mixing and metering the material as it is fed to the die. The extrusion screw in each of the mixing sections includes a double flight for causing the material to move back and forth in each section as it is fed to the discharge end of the barrel. The mix and meter section also includes keys to further mix the material.
