  • Patent number: 6553750
Abstract: A spinning rotor of an open-end spinning device is slowed down for piecing to a low rotational piecing speed and is then accelerated to the operating speed. For this purpose, the spinning rotor or an element in driving connection with it is presented a drive transmission device from a service unit by means of which the spinning rotor can be switched from normal production speed to a reduced piecing speed and back. In this process, the drive transmission device can be driven either by a driving apparatus installed on the service unit or by a drive belt extending within spinning machine. The driving apparatus mounted on the service unit is connected to a control device for the control of the evolution of the rotational speed of the spinning rotor. The spinning rotor is driven according to a rotational speed course controlled by means of a program applied by the control device during the time when its rotational speed deviates from its operating speed.

  • Publication number: 20030070414
Abstract: The invention concerns exchangeable machine components (20, 30, 40, 50) of a spinning machine in a spinning works, upon each, in accord with the invention, a corresponding identification recognition symbol (21, 31, 41, 51) is placed, in such a manner that said symbol is in a location of simple accessibility for reading. By means of sensors (22, 32, 42, 52) the identification recognition symbol (21, 31, 41, 51) is automatically detectable, and stored so that the configuration of a spinning station can be immediately called up. The configuration data are thus available for a monitoring and service system, such as, for instance, a remote diagnostic system.

  • Publication number: 20030019966
Abstract: Between first, the roll body (10) and the fittings carrier (11) and second, the drive shaft (2) is provided a releasable, particularly a clip or latch type connection apparatus (3). This connection apparatus (3) possesses on one of these two disintegrator roll components (10, 11) a studlike element (30) and on the other of these two disintegrator components (11, 10) a stud acceptor (31) oriented parallel to the disintegrator roll axis. The said stud acceptor possesses a narrowed passage on its end which is proximal to the fittings carrier (11). By means of this narrowed passage, the stud acceptor (31) and/or the studlike element (30) acts elastically in the transverse direction.

  • Publication number: 20020110294
Abstract: The invention concerns an open-end spinning apparatus with a spin-rotor (1), the shaft (3) of which is supported by an aerostatic, radial bearing (5) with an air gap (9) between the bearing assembly and the shaft (3) and the invention further concerns the aerostatic bearing for this purpose. In accord with the invention, the open-end spinning apparatus is thereby improved, in that the construction material for the bearing surface of the spin-rotor (1) and/or the bearing surface of the radial bearing (5) is polyimide or Aramid. In spite of possibly occurring bearing surface contacts, the operating life of the radial bearing is substantially increased by the use of these materials.

  • Publication number: 20020062637
Abstract: The invention relates to an opening cylinder (2) of an open-end spinning device as well as a fiber sliver opening apparatus with such an opening cylinder. In at least one lateral area (6) of the opening cylinder (2) a sealing surface for an air gap seal (12) is formed. According to the invention the opening cylinder (2) has an air passage (14) in at least the one lateral area (6), the output side of the air passage lying within the sealing surface or adjoining the sealing surface directly and the input side of which being at a shorter distance from the rotational axis of the opening cylinder (3) than the output side. During the operation of the fiber sliver opening apparatus, air is conveyed through the passages (14) to the air gap (12) of the air gap seal arrangement or conveyed past it, so that the entry of air and pollutants into the air gap (12) is counteracted.

  • Patent number: 5713528
Abstract: A winding process for winding yarn into a cross-wound bobbin in the textile machine includes depositing the yarn on a bobbin in a transversing stroke by a transversing movement of a yarn guide. The process includes intermittently decreasing the traversing stroke from a maximum value to a minimum value and then increasing the value of the traversing stroke from the minimum value back to a relatively constant maximum value and holding the stroke at the maximum value for a predetermined period of time. The traversing frequency of the yarn guide is decreased to a relatively constant minimum value substantially simultaneously with the increasing of the traversing stroke from the minimum value back to the relatively constant maximum value. The traversing frequency is maintained at the constant minimum value for a predetermined period of time. The traversing frequency of the yarn guide is then increased from the constant minimum value after the predetermined period of time.

  • Patent number: 5394684
Abstract: A process and apparatus for the control of a yarn storage mechanism on a spinning mill machine is proposed. When yarns are wound up it may occur, e.g. in forming conical bobbins, that more yarn is delivered than is wound up. The yarn which is briefly in excess is here taken up in form of a yarn loop by a compensator arm which intervenes transversely in the course of the yarn and is mounted so as to be capable of swivelling. According to the invention it is proposed that the compensator arm be subjected to the force of a spring which acts upon it increasingly as the yarn loop decreases, and in that the force of an additional elastic element acts upon the compensator arm as further excursion occurs.

  • Patent number: 5111651
Abstract: An open-end spinning device with a fiber feeding channel which extends from a housing with a rotating opening roller to a spinning element. The fiber feeding channel comprises two channel sections which can be moved towards each other and can be brought into alignment with each other. The first channel section is located in an insert of the housing and is capable of axial movement in the housing. The insert is urged by an elastic element in the direction of the second channel section and is covered by a screen on its end towards the interior of the housing, at least on the downstream side (with reference to the rotational direction of the opening roller). A seal is located between the insert and the housing.
