Patent number: 11664097Abstract: Hospital readmissions may be prevented. Readmission is prevented by predicting the probability of a given patient to be readmitted. The probability alone may prevent readmission by educating the patient or medical professional. The probability may be predicted during a patient stay and used to generate a workflow action item to reduce the probability, to warn, to output appropriate instructions, and/or assist in avoiding readmission. The probability may be specific to a hospital, physician group, or other entity, allowing prevention to focus on past readmission causes for the given entity.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 2020Date of Patent: May 30, 2023Assignee: CERNER INNOVATION, INC.Inventors: Faisal Farooq, Balaji Krishnapuram, Bharat R. Patent number: 11238221Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer programs are presented for estimating the language used in a user communication. One method includes an operation for utilizing counters to track use of languages by a user of an online service, the counters being updated based on interactions of the user in the online service. Further, the method includes operations for detecting a text entered by the user and obtaining, by a language classifier, an initial prediction having probabilities for the languages that the text is in the language. A language distribution prediction is calculated based on the initial prediction and the user counters, where the language distribution prediction comprises a probability, for each language, that the text is in the language. Further, the method includes operations for selecting a language used in the text based on the language distribution prediction and causing presentation on a display of a message in the selected language.Type: GrantFiled: June 19, 2019Date of Patent: February 1, 2022Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Jeffrey William Pasternack, Vita G. Patent number: 10990754Abstract: This disclosure provides for systems and methods that generate personalized electronic messages for members of a networked communication service. The personalized electronic messages are generated according to commonalities between member profiles. In one approach, an electronic message template is referenced based on the commonalities. The electronic message template is populated with member profile attribute values selected from the member profiles. In another approach, a long-short term memory (LSTM) recurrent neural network (RNN) is used to generate the electronic messages. Under this approach, a sequence-to-sequence model is trained using previous electronic messages labeled with one or more member profile attributes and/or member profile attribute values. When provided with one or more member profile attribute values associated with matching member profiles, the LSTM RNN outputs a relevant and appropriate electronic message designed to create an interest in the recipient of the electronic message.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 2018Date of Patent: April 27, 2021Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Bing Zhao, Romer E. Patent number: 10671680Abstract: A system and method for content generation and targeting using machine learning are provided. In example embodiments, a probability that a user will visit a webpage based on historical data is calculated. A probability that the user will engage with a particular content category based on past user engagement is calculated. In response to the probability of the user engaging with the particular content category being equal to or greater than a first threshold, the content is generated. Further, in response to the probability of the user not visiting a webpage meeting or exceeding a second threshold, the generated content is sent to the user.Type: GrantFiled: August 25, 2016Date of Patent: June 2, 2020Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Jinyun Yan, Hsiao-Ping Tseng, Xiaoyu Chen, Rupesh Gupta, Romer E. Publication number: 20190266497Abstract: The disclosed embodiments provide a system for processing data. During operation, the system obtains a knowledge graph containing a set of job transitions for members of an online network. Next, the system receives a career path query for a member of the online network. The system then uses member features for the member and parameters of the career path query to identify one or more paths in the knowledge graph that match the career path query.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 23, 2018Publication date: August 29, 2019Applicant: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Yiping Yuan, Baolei Li, Romer E.
